Hopefully Keim has his eye on this game. LSU vs. Georgia. Murray and Mettenberger. Two guys who fit what we do on offense.

Isn't the problem Ariens needs 5 receivers for his system to work. I'm wondering why we don't run more, use more play action, and run a few draws. This could slow down the pass rush, giving Palmer more time to throw and stay on his feet.

Arians prefers a 2 TE base offense, so no. You're confusing him, I think, with the guy who just left.

At least we brought in a bunch of veteran TEs to compete for roster spots this offseason, and didn't rely on one guy who we knew was injured, and another prospect who hasn't caught a TD in two NFL seasons.

Wait... what?

Which is? With our team right now you could argue that the QB we need is someone who can move in the pocket and throw the ball downfield w/ accuracy. Ball placement of our future QB might be the most important characteristic due to our receivers inability to create separation.

I've said it before Mariota might be my initial favorite as the QB we draft, but he will need some help.

In short, my 2014 plan now...

Sign Eugene Monroe or Brandon Albert in FA.

Have Levi battle Massie for the RT spot.

Draft QB Marcus Mariota in the 1st round.

Trade up from the 2nd round into the 1st and draft OLB Khalil Mack.

Round 3 draft TE Jace Amaro

Round 4 draft WR Josh Huff

Round 5 draft DE/OLB Chaz Sutton

OT, QB, OLB, TE all upgraded

This is true but they don't block before going into their routes. That's what I mean by five receivers. Two tight ends who don't block, is it really any different then last year??? Run the damn ball, do some draws and then some play action. Perhaps the rush will slow down some.

That 1st drive against NO combined running and passing and it was "beautiful". Then They abandoned the run and the game got out of hand.

How do we trade up to the second round while still having any picks left. You'd have to be in the top 15 picks for Mack and it would take at least a 1st round pick next year to get there.

It would take a 2015 first rounder. That is what I would give up. If we can't fill our needs at QB and OLB next year, we are starting over anyway. You only get so many sub .500 seasons as a new coach and GM.

The "chopper for GM" petition.

I would have signed the petition but you are already trading away future rd 1 picks.

The point is that this team can't afford to wait multiple years stocking draft picks and hoping they pan out. Our GM and coaching staff don't have three years if today is an example of what we can expect. We need to add a LT, QB AND at least one OLB NEXT YEAR, or Arians, Bowles and Keim are all probably gone. QB you almost have to go first round with which leaves FA and a possible trade up to fill LT and OLB. If I am Keim, I am banking on the guy I picked to be my head coach and I will mortgage the future to give him every asset he needs to win now. See Washington Redskins.

If we need to give up future 1st rd picks for a QB I'm all for it but not any other position.

If my GM needs to trade up all the time to ensure they get good players I don't want that GM.

Definitely need to go QB in the first. It will be hard to pass on a LT, but they need to do it.
