The best-coached team in the NFL right now are the New York Giants.

And it didn't happen overnight with the Giants. In fact Giant fans wanted Tom Coughlin fired more than once. But management stuck with him, and now look at them.

What Ken Whisenhunt had accomplished in a year and a half is commendable. Of course, he has had the kind of management support and spending that no predecessor has had. But still, he HAS changed the culture, and coupled with a relatively healthy team this season, he's got the Cardinals playoff bound.

The decisions he's made, from starting Kurt Warner at QB to gutsy going for it on 4th downs to incorporating trick plays have definitely inspired the team and it shows on the field and in the standings.

Graves gets all the blame on this board, and none of the props.

Well look at the 2007 draft when Whisenhunt hadn't had a chance to really get settled and the 2008 draft after Ken and staff had plenty of time to prepare.

Just sayin'.

I used to joke that the perfect coach for the Cardinals was someone who was allergic to Gatorade.

But I think what impresses me the most about Whis is his ability to adapt to the players he has on the team.

He comes from the Steelers and would love nothing better than playing that smashmouth football and running over teams. However, he has adapted his style to the skills of the players we have on the team. That makes his coaching job even that much better.

I admit being a little skeptical when he was hired (been burned before), but he has won me over. GO :newcards::newcards::newcards:

Jim Rome has called Whis "one of the toughest coaches in the NFL," as in "you wouldn't want to run into him alone in a dark alley."

There is quite a bit he has been unable to do thuse far or needs to do next season

1) Still needs to address penalties
2) Tackling is improving but I want to see that next level of superbowl caliber tackling
3) Change Punter
4) Change special teams coach. Remmeber the blocked punt against Dallas? That was on urban it wasnt called. Bad returns (Put JJ in)
5) Find out why Russ Grimm is having no impact.

other than that I already gave him my props after week 6.

Agree on 1, 2, 3...the penalties and stupid plays are going to kill us.

I have to say Whis has far exceeded my expectations...but then again I wanted Dennis Green and Mike Sherman!
