Kennard played well in the snaps Vance allowed him last season. He had the bat down that stopped Green bay on 4th down and gave us the ball back for the (nearly) winning drive.

He had a 77.4 PFF grade (Argh PFF you cry) on 247 snaps.
I feel like I stated something similar during the season when I was critical of Vance. Kennard isn't a bad player but for whatever reason (I have opinions of course) Vance chose not to play him even prior to the team trading for Golden.

I feel like Kennard is another example (similar to Campbell) of Vance and his scheme not being able to get the most out of decent NFL talent. Some of this lands on Keim not being able to understand what Vance is looking for in players but it is shared with Vance not being able to find ways to make the players he has successful.

You would think, and this might seem out there, that Keim and his DC would have a conversation before signing players.

They must do right? I find it hard to believe Keim is just signing guys without discussing fit with his DC.

You would think but there is obviously some disconnect between the two.

I believe he was the best run defender among our supposed-to-be vert talented LB group last season. He was better at stopping the runs than Jones, Golden, and Simmons combined.

Agree on his run defense. But some that is that Golden and Gardeck are so lousy at it.

The title of this thread should be "Kennard Accepts More Money Up Front Than Previously Scheduled to Stay On Team."

Chris Sanders' math kind of got lost in the shuffle. This move pushed a little over $2.18 million to 2023 when his contract voids. He'll have about $5 million in dead money in 2023.
