When did the team throw Kennedy under the bus?

I was extreme in using that expression. Towers pulled no punches in announcing "that dealing Kennedy could make his starting rotation better". I was surprised that he would be so direct about it (even though fans knew it) and go farther than the usual "We thank Ian for what he did for us and wish him well."

“We’re in a pennant race right now,” Towers said. “Sometimes you have to do some drastic things. We’re trying to get this thing right. We want to get to the position where we can catch the Dodgers.”

Towers seems to believe that dealing Kennedy and freeing up room for Brandon McCarthy and Trevor Cahill could make his starting rotation better.

McCarthy outduels Kennedy tonight. Dbacks hit Kennedy pretty well, knocking him out after 5 innings and banging out 11 hits and 3 runs off Ian.
McCarthy now with 3 straight high quality starts with a sub 2 ERA over those 3 games...
