Do you really believe that Drew makes requests like that without consulting their client and getting the go ahead?

Oh, I believe that Rosenhaus is doing everything with Boldin's blessing. And, this is exactly why Boldin hired Rosenhaus. But, that is NOT the same as Boldin sitting down with the coach and saying "trade me". That's much more personal, and emotional. Right now, he's still somewhat detached from the process, and not letting it interfere with football.

Agreed that its less emotional. But in the end it is still Boldin making the request IMHO.

That really doesnt matter. He is Q's agent. You cant tell me or convince me that if he approaches the organization with a trade demand or "request" it isnt at the blessing of the player.
It says in the article that a demand wasn't made. I'm guessing Schefter called Drew and asked something about Boldin's contract and Drew responded something like that they will look for a trade if nothing can get worked out on an extension. Who knows? I'll stick with,it's a non-issue until next off season. I shouldn't say non-issue but not a predominant issue.

Your right it didnt say a demand. It said a request from Rosenhaus. Which most certainly was condoned by Anquan. Is it a serious issue now? No. but it certainly could turn into one.

It will be interesting to see if Q has burned some his "Cardinal Messiah" credit that the fans have given him. Some of those drops and penalties may not be so easily forgiven this next season.

That's great. Had my self a little episode when I saw the same garbage posted from NFLnetwork just now. Afraid I didn't catch the body of "Kent Somer article" before a pulled a newbie reactionary post. :(

But in fairness, it is still not a good situation. But it definately in not as bad as it sounded. It seems that this news was ultra-embellished, which cause some alarm. And rightfully so as far as I am concerned.

Agreed.

It is still nice to hear this is not as alarming as it was first reported.

You have Chris Mortensen saying Boldin is very unhappy in AZ, and Adam "rumor mongerer" Schefter saying that Boldin DEMANDED a trade. Both were completely wrong, and lying yet never corrected their mistake. Thus the panic that rushed throughout this board.

I like that Darren Urban and Somers cleared up the speculation and lies and presented the issue as is.

Still gotta to get him in a contract that he is happy with.

From listiening to Boldin, I find it more likely that he said to Rosenhaus to do what it takes to get a deal done. He has said in the past that when it comes to contracts you have to seperate emotions and business.

From my POV, using the 'threat' of a trade as means to try and gain leverage and actually getting to the point in which such a threat is actually carried out are two different things.

However, based on what Urban, Somers, Whis and Graves have said I still remain highly skeptical of this report by Schefter.

In Fairness to Q

The team says that we made an offer to the Agent, that in a few years would have have made Q one of the top paid WR's in the NFL. Well two things:
1. You don't know what the WR pay scale will be in a couple of years.
2. In two years, Q will be 30, and when his salary is due to escalate(assuming no guarantees), the team can just say, "See ya".
