On to the playoff piece - I don't think we have the cap space or draft picks needed to fill our roster with adequate starters where we currently have none, much less have a blockbuster offseason. I expect a pretty pedestrian free agency period on account of re-signing guys, needing to fill OLB (starter at least, probably backup), ILB (starter) DE x2 (starters and depth), OT x2 (starters have to be either re-signed or acquired), C, and even WR.

Closing with Drake, I just don't believe in the guy, and I see paying him with DJ's contract as a guarantee we start an extremely poor player at one of the positions listed above. And then we end up stuck with him, or with dead money.

I think I line up with this, for the most part. Playoffs? Why does Jim Mora spring to my mind when that is mentioned relative to this Cardinals team? LOL

Not in the next year, at least, IMO. Heck, with Keim it may not be in KM's rookie deal years, MB's trust in him (SK) notwithstanding.

I’m interested what players do you want in FA & the draft.
I really think adding Conklin to this roster would be a great short and long-term move, and I think the chances are high that he does come available, since both Tannehill and Henry are key players the Titans need to retain and might franchise. If we can't acquire him, I sign one of Murray or Gilbert and RT becomes a major draft priority.

I would franchise Humphries and take a long look at the tackles available in the draft depending on the above as well.

At ILB, I like the idea of adding Schobert or Martinez, or potentially Simmons in the draft.

At C, I'd love to add a McGovern or find someone in the second round. Please, anything but Shipley.

I'm fine with so many DTs/3-4 DEs. Shelby Harris has been a mentioned name, Arik Armstead, Marcel Dareus is rumored to be cut... we need at least one true starter, and one guy to compete for a starting spot with Zach Allen, along with a little more depth. Bringing back Gunter is fine for that depth.

At edge, I'm taking a guy like Judon or Beasley. I know, you don't like Beasley, but we have limited money to work with, and he could be had for a reasonable and shorter contract. But similar to DT/DE, there's a lot of guys here that I think are interesting names.

I don't like much at WR, but if AJ Green finds the market slim, I would kick the tires, along with maybe Breshad Perriman. But this is another consideration for the draft around 1 or 2.

I replace Drake with a 3rd or 4th round guy with potential, most likely.

Also, sorry for the edits. Having weird connection issues and it's not saving my drafts correctly, so when I navigate to another page, it removes things.

If most of this board has reservations, people sure don't bring them up often. I can't pop into a thread without Kenyan Drake being the guy who "sparked the offense," Kyler a top five QB already (and I don't have any interest in moving on from him or dislike of him, so let's please not have that fight again), DJ Humphries being totally worth resigning to a major deal, and wanting to bring back essentially the exact same offense from 2019.

There's roughly ten active posters here I feel are realistic about expressing their doubt while trying to remain positive. The rest seem to think we're geared up to compete for the division and make the playoffs, or are true darksiders like me.

Yup, glad we have you to remind us to refrain talking about Kyler again lol

It's going take more than a one year deal for him to sign, or he is really no better off than his tenure at Miami from a career perspective because you want some kind of stability at his age to achieve personal objectives. He will get more than a one year offer from the Cards but it will not be anywhere close to what they are paying DJ or anyone else will pay him. I think the Gurley and DJ contracts have sobered the whole league towards giving running backs huge contracts... backs just have to realize that the huge contracts where a unicorn in the forest glade which has now ran off lol
Why he is a RB that has really proven nothing if somebody wants to offer big who cares I dont want to pay JMO that would be my offer

Outside of signing Martinez(he stinks & is a big liability in coverage), I’m not mad at it.

I'll totally admit to not keying in on a ton of Martinez's play, and kinda drawn in by being told he's good in coverage. Plus the fact he won't totally break the bank and could be upgraded down the line if needed.

Let’s see all that fit into our cap.
Wait, what?
Technically we could sign just about everyone and anyone we want. It would take a whole lot of guaranteed money. It could make us instant contenders or it could sink us into the cellar for years.

...One way or the other, we have to find someone to man the spots mentioned. Outside of Conklin, I didn't mention a single player that's going to break the bank.
