I was just remembering that Lakers-Suns playoff game two years ago when Boris had something like 25 points, 10 rebounds, 9 assists, and 11-11 free throws.

It'd be really cool if he gets good again this season.

It is more than just about "cool", the Suns are counting on him to a much greater degree than last year.

I may be reading a lot into this, but there have been several hints to the effect that the offense will start revolving around Diaw having the ball in his hands much more than last season.

-- At the end of the season D'Antoni had a meeting with Diaw and afterward said that they agreed to use him differently.

-- There have been various comments to the effect that whoever gets signed (pj being the target), that person would not replace what KT was doing. My interpretation is that Boris would play backup center rather than the odd SF/PF he was playing last season with Marion.

-- Discussions about Amare's workouts noted he was spending a lot of time working on his three point shooting and dribbling. This provides at least for the possibility that Amre would play in more the style Tim Thomas some of the time - but with vastly better finishing skills. (Don't panic, Amare will still play most of his time at the elbow along with Marion0.

Better conditioning is an absolute must for Boris. Last year he did not finish strong at the basket (suggesting limited lift) and his rebounding dropped dramatically from the previous season. If the various clips we've seen from last season, he did not show up on the break.

If Boris going to replace what Kt was doing, he will have to become vastly more active on defense. I'm not the only one with a "wait and see" attitude about his defense, but I'm confident his offense will be much better.
