No, I think it's smart for a GM to fully commit to obtaining a player if he feels it can help the Suns. I just hope it's not all for naught. Kerr knows Barry so I think it was worth the shot.

The thing is, there's been a lot of times that guys have been open and just haven't knocked down shots (Raja Bell). Our best shooter is the guy who's usually passing the ball. Down the stretch of a big game, I want people who have experience knocking down those big threes on the floor. Brent Barry is that. DJ Strawberry and Boris Diaw are not.

Well, I'm not saying that we shouldn't pursue Brent Barry... I'm just saying, "oh, how the mighty have fallen". The Suns used to have a plethora of shooters and swagger. It seems the Suns are a shell of themselves. Raja is the perfect example of a 'fallen star'... he used to relish the matchups, live for the bell-finger, and fire up the team. Half the time, I don't even notice him on the court!

I do hope we get Brent Barry, we need him. Of course, Brent Barry is still a Spur.

Raja really only felt automatic the year Amare was microfractured down for the count. Barry is just a pure, pure shooter, plain and simple.

Suns General Manager Steve Kerr said he flew into San Antonio today to meet with free agent guard Brent Barry and his wife, Erin, but Barry remains undecided.

Barry may still reveal his decision, which apparently is down to the Suns and Spurs, tonight but he left open the possibility that he may need until Wednesday to pick a team.

"I've spoken with Brent," Kerr said. "I met with him and his wife and we're awaiting his decision. He's very seriously considering it."

San Antonio and Phoenix are offering Barry, 36, a veteran's minimum contract for the rest of the season and next season. The Suns are seeking his help with playmaking and perimeter shooting.

Barry cleared waivers this morning after being traded from San Antonio to Seattle, who released him Friday. If Barry signs with San Antonio, his team since 2004 and his family's home, he can't join the team until 30 days after the trade. Barry also is recovering from a calf strain that would keep him out of action for at least another week.

Desperation.......its all or nothing for the Suns i guess. If this experiement fails, its gonna be a very very long time before youre in contention for another title run. This is not smart.........not very smart management at all. Givin all your draft picks away, bringin in all these new guys that disrupt chemistry........guys over 30. Desperation.

I'll bet Popovich is putting Barry up to this. He's going through a whole song and dance to make the Suns look like the runner-up. Really there was no doubt that he would rejoin the Spurs, but this way he gets to inflict maximum disappointment on the Suns.
