Rolle just blew coverage on a huge TD to Johnson...

Loved reading that the backs get together on their day off to watch film and go to dinner. Kinda cool.

I really like Kerry Rhodes. Will probably be my next jersey (though I don't think they make them in women's sizes). Boo. :(

So you were in the Giants huddle and knew what defense was called that play. He also had the game ending INT to seal the victory.

I've got no complaints about Rhodes's play so far. My whole complaint has been that people now talk like Rolle was complete trash and the worst safety ever to suit up for the Cards.

No we don't. We talk about him like a play maker who will make 3 or 4 big flashy plays for you a year. But get burned pretty bad about 12 other times a year due to free lancing.

Not great by any means but not horrible either. He was/is an average safety at best who got a reputation for the big flashy play.

That fairly well sums up the entire defense for the last few years. Average to below average work complemented by flashy plays ie fumble returns for TDs, INTs, forced fumbles and the occasional amazing pass break up.

I had hoped that had left with the guys who moved on but it hasn't.

Rhodes has played very well, Toler has been a very pleasant surprise, and the tackling has improved but we are still seeing guys running wide open and the breakdowns on third and long that have plagued the Cards for years.

Especially at the tight end position which seems to be the never ending achilles heel for the Cards. It is as if they don't know tight ends are eligible to catch passes.

Maybe its because the Cards offense doesn't know it either so they never see it in practice. :D

Actually, hidden in the noise of the Cards win over the Saints was Ben Patrick having five catches. A sign of things to come?
