I havent found any details on the contract other than the topline of $62 mm or so with $21 mm guaranteed.
I did see reference to a $7mm roster bonus due sometime this offseason, that bonus being a motivator to the Cardinals to "find out what they have".
My guess on what the contract structure is:
1. It was announced as an extension. That probably means Kolb is getting the salary due to him from his current contract -- around $4mm.
2. I suspect he got a signing bonus in the $10- $14mm range. If at the low end, it would produce a $14mm payment this year, around starting QB range. If at the high end, it likely means that the signing bonus + the $7mm roster bonus coming due is all of the guaranteed money.
Its quite possible that the Cardinals have already eaten most of the guaranteed money in the deal.
