18 of 29 309 yards and 2TD's..Zero Int's and a QB rating over 130.00

ARE YOU KIDDING ME? With that kind of pressure?

I know its only one game. But in all seriousness he should get better as the season goes along and he is in this O longer.

Forgot to mention Kolb completed almost 67% of his passes

Kolb's YPA was a whopping 11.4

Color me impressed.

I do think he needs to step up in the pocket instead of simply scrambling to his right all the time but that's pretty nitpicky of me.

Especially if stepping up in the pocket could get him killed. :D

Kolb is a more mobile QB than I ever dreamed.

Agree, he was good, but he needs to not run so early.

You have to remember he just turned in that performance after what 5 weeks work with the team?

You have got to be stoked about him so far, granted it's just one game but I'm stoked, very much so.

I'm not going to quibble with him doing whatever he wants to do with a rating over 100, whatever he did, worked.

No, it's not nitpicky. Rest assured that the Redskins are scouting this very thing. Expect them to keep an LB on the right to spy him.

Agreed. His tackles allow guys around. Changing the angle by moving forward will improve his life expectancy.

Say what you want about him moving out of the pocket, but he must have avoided at least 5 sacks in doing so.

This is what I was seeing but I haven't and won't go back and watch the game again to double check. It appeared to me that the the OG's & C were keeping a nice clean pocket up the middle but again first impressions aren't always accurate.

I think the coaches started calling designed rollouts and bootlegs because Levi Brown was getting it handed to him all game. I don't think it was all on Kolb either not stepping up in the pocket or always going to his right, he was just moving away from the pass rusher who inevitably was going to beat Levi.

On the radio, I think it was Wolfley, said the Cards are trying to work with Kolb to get him to step up into the pocket when in the shotgun. Said it would help out the tackles in pass protection.

Definitely off to a great start for Kolb!!! Was particularly impressed by his ability to spread the ball around (300+ yards and the leading receiver was Beanie w/ 4 catches -- and who had Early for 100+ and King for 60+ making the biggest plays on offense?! Would love to see even more out of Roberts and Heap next game to really keep this balanced).

But, and not trying to be a wet blanket/glass half empty here, but do remember he was playing a team coming off a 2-14 season, lost one of its starting CBs (to us - and I know he was BAD last year), and played a good chunk of the second half without their best linebacker. I think next week against the Redskins will be a much better gauge of where Kolb is at. I wouldn't expect the same performance, but I hope he proves me wrong and he should only get better with experience!!

But he looked so, so much better than any QB we had out there last year. He gives us a chance to win nine games in 2011.
