did you love part one? I love part one but have low expectations for any kind of reboot - Nick cage is dead and I understand what is happening now. Part of its awesomeness was that I had no idea what I was getting in to.

I loved everything with Big Daddy and Hit Girl in the first one, but I couldn't stand the guy or the character of Kick-Ass. Subtract Big Daddy, add more Kick-Ass and you'll see what you get (or don't get) from Hit Girl and you'll see why it was awful.

That changes everything. Different standards for $1 movies all together.

My problem with KA1, was that the ending seemed like a cop out to me.

How so? The movie was entitled Kick-Ass, maybe that should have been a clue for you? If they had called it, "sorry but I just killed your fake superhero" than I could buy into your view.

I just remember a bunch of shooting up the office or whatever. I could very well be I was doing something else by the time they got to the end because I had lost interest.

Nah, you're probably right - the ending wasn't much of a payoff. The movie itself really isn't all that great but that 10 year old girl steals the spotlight and makes it fairly entertaining. It's always nice to see the nerd get the beautiful girl although KA the character was more annoying than anything else. Anyway, this movie pretty much stops being special about the time Cage gets roasted but you knew she was going to have to get her vengeance at that point.

I recently watched it.

They caught lightning in a bottle with the first one, the odds are against that happening again. I'm still going to watch it but it will be with tempered expectations.

Ding ding ding. This is exactly correct.

this was truly awful.

I couldn't agree more. So disappointing, as I was a huge fan of the first one.

Carrey was good, but the magic was completely gone.
