COLUMBIA — Kickapoo girls basketball returns to the Missouri state semifinals for the fourth time in the last five years, and it faces a tough challenge when it tips off in Columbia on Wednesday evening.
Kickapoo will face Staley in a 4 p.m. Class 6 semifinal at Mizzou Arena as a part of the 2025 MSHSAA Show-Me Showdown. The Falcons have yet to lose to an in-state team and are littered with Division I talent.
Staley has four players who are receiving Division I interest, including three who are hearing from high-majors. The team is led by sophomore Destiny Manyawu who is averaging 14.1 points and 11.4 rebounds.
The Lady Chiefs will have the advantage in deep-postseason experience. Star player Mikayla Pilley, a senior wing, is averaging 16.9 points and seven rebounds. She's been among the best players in the state throughout her career.
