SI.com's Peter King reports that the Ravens are "close" to finalizing a trade for Anquan Boldin.

Kansas City -- Baltimore's main rival in the Boldin sweepstakes -- is working with more second-day (second- and third-round) picks, but also has way more holes to fill. The Ravens were always Boldin's most likely landing spot. His run-blocking prowess would fit right in with their smash-mouth style, and Boldin is enough of a play-maker to fill the team's No. 1 receiver void.

Looks like the dream for Cody is gone. FUUUUU looks like we gotta go with Torell Troupe with the late Ravens 2nd rounder and Gronkowski with the other.

Living close to the Ravens, they have been my second favorite team. This would be my favorite stop for him.

The Ravens are still drooling over Boldin's performance a couple of years ago versus them when he steamrolled over their safeties all afternoon.

I think that was Q's signature game if there ever was one.

The only curious part is Boldin's "run blocking prowess." He's a holding penalty waiting to happen on every play.

You are insane Mitch. One of the better run blocking WR's in the league. How many holding penalties does he have in his career?

Oh the memories...#81 has been a magical # in Cardinal land. Q, Jetstream & Jackie Smith. The next one will come in the future.

And how many CB's has he physically destroyed?

many, but he's also destroyed his body too. Can you imagine what Q's body will feel like when he reaches 60? Oh my...thoughts of Dobler & Jim Otto come to mind.

wouldn't call the Ravens game Boldins signature game. He has had better. His rookie year against the Lions, the panthers game where he did the pinball play, going over 200 yards vs the Seahawks etc.

Seems like quite a few---some in tough situations the last couple of years. Watch him, he always seems to have a hand grasped on the back shoulder of the defender. He gets away with alot.

Look, who cares? Any team that trades for Q is going to want him to do what he does best, catch the ball in the short and intermediate zones and rip ahead for major YACs.

Heck yeah, he's played the game right. Unfortunately the game isn't very forgiving.

Better be more than a third. I am not all that thrilled with just a second round pick to be honest. Q played some damn good football last year. Many games was our best receiver. Guess it is all but done.

C'mon Mitch... Q is a beast in every phaze of the game, including run-blocking! Unlike so many other ***** WR's, Boldin has never had a problem sacrificing his body and when it comes to blocking, there are less than a handful who do it better than Q. To suggest otherwise is bordering on ignorance and is really some ugly sour grapes...

Tell the Ravens to choke on it. They can keep throwing to Todd Heap. This is a Probowl receiver we are losing.

Who has injury concerns and is only signed through this year. Not only do the Ravens have to give up a draft pick but then they have to pay him like a FA.

We don't exactly sit in a position of strength. I would have been beside myself for a second, and hide the vodka is another later rounder appeared. But this seems to be about where I was estimating. Although I thought the late rounder would be this years.

If it is only a low third I keep him.

I understand the thinking but there is a lot of evidence that we are just as productive with or without him. Winning % is actually better when he is out.
This is not my attempt to bash the baddest Cardinal ever just an explanation as to why I think it's time to get something for Q before he leaves via FA. I also believe that he would rather be in Baltimore then Az this year, especially if he gets a new contract.
