Kings, D Doughty agree to 8-year deal (AP)

Drew Doughty has agreed to an eight-year contract with the Los Angeles Kings after the star defenseman skipped the first 13 days of training camp. The Kings announced the new deal with Doughty late Thursday night. TSN reported the deal is worth $56 million. The 21-year-old Doughty is among the NHL's top young defensemen after three seasons with the Kings.
