it's pretty raunchy... it's like the Kickass (movie) version of James Bond.

What is your definition of raunchy? When you say that I think of movies with lots of sex. This movie didn't even though it had a couple lines and the one suggestive scene at the end.

I guess I'll have to see it to know for sure (obviously). I don't care for raunchy but I loved Kickass. I also loved James Bond. If it's National Lampoon, Mel Brooks or even Adam Sandler kind of raunchy, I"ll probably enjoy it. But if it's Jud Apatow or Seth Rogen kind of raunchy, I probably won't make it halfway through the movie.

Steve.

I actually really loved this movie--certainly the best of 2015 so far (IMO).

I liken it to Snatch or Lock, Stock -- just about spies rather than gangsters. Which makes sense, since Matthew Vaughn was one of the producers of both those movies.

I loved Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels but I still haven't seen Snatch. Maybe I'll give it a try this summer when I reactivate my Netflix account.

It's not like any of those raunchy movies by the way IMO. I think Raunchy is the wrong word. I mean it has some vulgar language and maybe that qualifies as raunchy. I mean it's R rated and normally you wouldn't have a spy movie (which usually screams sophisticated or high class) associated with vulgar language.

However, it's organic and makes sense within the context of the characters portrayed in the movie. I really wouldn't associated any of the types of movies you pointed out above with this movie whatsoever but that is me.

With those films they tell some pretty dirty jokes and that type of thing. None of that really applies here IMO.

I don't think its raunchy at all. Its has language and a butt shot at the end, but not raunchy.

Definitely do that--I loved Lock, Stock, but I prefer Snatch by far.

but you can understand these actors? I cant watch snatch or lock stock because I cant understand what anyone is saying and have to focus on their words too much.

More like ass kicked. huh. huh. huh.

That's why I have yet to see Snatch. I get a headache just trying to figure out what Benicio Del Toro is saying.

Damn good and fun movie.

But I gotta say I don't think Jackson's character was very good at all. Might be his worst performance/character ever, imo. Just wasn't good.

Nah, the ambiguously gay villain with a lisp just didn't work for me. Not with Jackson. I kept wanting Elmo from formula 51 to come out.

There was good spy writing in it as well.

The scene where they had to off the dog was crazy. In the midst of all the fun there was some cool spy movie writing! Like what an insanely diabolical to test ones loyalty to the service at the end of your training! Ok at the start of your training we're going to give you a puppy, you'll have to raise, train, love it and have it with you at all times over the next few months.

now your training is complete, kill the dog. Why? Because you've been ordered to.

Could you do it?

Just watched this on the weekend, THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. Great to see Mark Strong as a good guy, loved the Church scene, Colin Firth was fantastic.

It was just the right level of ridiculousness and self-awareness.

As I live my life now....no. However, if I made a conscience decision to live that life? I probably could because I would have to know having attachments is probably not a good thing. I mean if you decide to become a spy you have to know you are sacrificing some morals already right?

Subtitles! I watch everything with subtitles, but they're definitely needed for Snatch.
