Frankly if this were reality I'd be pretty unhappy. Benson will be a very good NFL player although I question for how long, solid pick. Wilson is the son of Stanley Wilson the Bengal RB with the drug problems, very fast kid but very raw CB he was a 5th or 6th rounder before the combine and workouts showed how fast he was, HUGE reach at 44 IMHO. Has Brandon Browner as the next CB to go after Wilson nearly 20 picks later which is why I was so concerned with the Starks trade. I think despite all the "Depth" at CB, because there's so few great players elsewhere all the good RB's and CB's will go in runs and by round 3 you'll be picking from guys who aren't all that exciting.

THe thing that scares me is that pick #44 seems like no mans land.

All the players that would be great picks at that spot could very well go in the 20 picks before hand: Alex Smith-TE, Marlin Jackson, Justin Miller and Corey Webster at CB, JJ Arrington at RB

Stanley Wilson is solid! I hear you though....just seems kinda all over the place. A part of the problem is we've had our favorites for so long we tend to close ourselves off to other prospects that may be just as good as the ones we've discussed on the board.

Last year's draft gives me confidence that the overhauled regime knows what's up more than the previous crew.

Oh I like Wilson too but basically he's shot up because he ran blazing 40's and if you know anything about him, you already knew he was fast. He ran track at Stanford, he's got tremendous straight line speed, but CB's need to be able to change direction and all the other things and that's where he was in trouble at Stanford.

At least Browner has accomplished things at the collegiate level. All Wilson has done is be an unproductive college player and have a good combine (as all track stars do).

And I still don't see how Benson would fit into our offense. This draft blows.

Totally agree Browner will be a very good NFL player. Wilson is local to me and nobody thought very highly of him before he ran at the combine. If we took him at 44 I think I'd toss my cookies.

If Browner sucks then how come he was the Pac-10 frosh of the year in 2003 and second team All Pac-10 in 2004 while Stanley only received a menial honorable mention in 2004? Browner may be raw, but he was unquestionably the superior college player and he's only played the position for a couple years while Stanley had all four year to master his mediocrity.

I think Browner is going to wind up at safety so yes he's not a CB.

I saw Wilson a lot at Stanford, not blaming him for sure but there was a reason Stanford allowed so many points in earlier years, they got better last season without question.

I just have a thing about picking guys who shoot up 2-4 rounds because they ran a fast 40.

I admit I'm pulling for the kid I really like how he's handling the whole situation with how his dad ended up, but he's not a 2nd round pick IMHO.

Mediocre doesn't equate to "sucks," amigo. Wilson is consistantly rated higher on every draft board that I have seen to date while nobody seems to be talking about Browner. I dunno, man...call it a gut feeling but I don't think your guy Browner is going to amount to much at corner and, well, safety for that matter.
