The poster is pretty amazing, for all sorts of reasons, but for some reason, it will not show up on ASFN.

This Christmas, have your family join with Kirk Cameron's family and dive headfirst into all the dancing, celebration, feasting, imagination, and traditions that glorify the true "reason for the season." KIRK CAMERON'S SAVING CHRISTMAS is an engaging story that will leave the audience with an understanding of a biblical basis for our celebrations, and the inspiration to stand strongly against a culture that wants to trivialize and eliminate the faith elements of this holy season. So take in the splendor; take in the majesty; take in the story. Take it all in ... and let's put Christ back in Christmas! KIRK CAMERON'S SAVING CHRISTMAS is in theaters for a limited engagement beginning November 14.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go to buy food for the poor, I'm sure.

What exactly are you saying about the site? Besides, my lack of interest in this has more to do with KC being a homophobe, bigot and a big mouth. Not to mention his insistence on the alleged war on Christmas. Make no mistake, this is a political movie disguised as entertainment.

It appears to be a 2 hour militant Christian rant about how the secular (fake) parts of Christmas are overtaking the religious (real) parts, even though "Christmas" was originally invented to convert Pagans into Christians.

If the Hulk isn't in it, I may have to skip this one.

I may check out the soundtrack, though.

It looks like a C Movie(lower then a B movie). I still don't get why this would even be in theaters. Seems like a movie that would go straight to DVD.

Cameron's movie are pretty low budge and have actually made a surprisingly decent return during their theatrical runs. How those movies have accomplished that, only God knows!

Word of mouth on Christian broadcasting, in churches, small groups, and Christian bookstores. There is an entire segment of the population that will not go to the theater to see everyday films, but they'll go at least a couple of times during the run of these smaller films - ala Courageous, Fireproof, God's Not Dead, Soul Surfer, three Left Behind films, etc. - to see them and to support the making of more Christian films.

I suppose this is that liberal open mindedness I heard tell about?

Not a liberal. Watch the trailer. I think I summed it up pretty accurately. They are angrily decrying historically accuracy because it steps on religious tradition.

You don't have to be openminded when you already know the arguments.

For me, I'm a totally nonbeliever, so I would look at those movies as crap. I won't be convinced of it, because I see no evidence of it.

<<<Not trying to move this thread to P&R, just making the point that you don't have to be openminded about things you are already familiar with and understand>>

Really you have to admire a person that stands up for their beliefs though.

Yeah the KKK should be applauded for their conviction through the years.

Kidding!

I just think this movie has no discernible plot. There is a central conflict, but it appears to be entirely within his mind. Doesn't seem like good fodder for a fictional movie. Maybe a documentary would have been a better format.

In his case actually you don't. I am Christian as many of my friends. I know some of them have a problem with some of the topics he has touched on. The difference? They are tolerant and don't believe in judging people. Kirk Cameron is a hypocritical, homophobic bigot. Maybe he forgot as a Christian the part of the Bible that says don't do exactly what he has done. Judge!

Last time I checked saying things like "ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization." about a certain segment of our population is incredibly hypocritical and non-Christian like. Something so many of my fellow Christians have forgotten about.

I don't have any respect or admiration for what he "stands up for" one bit.

P.S. I would rather sit through a marathon of Batman & Robin, Battlefield Earth, the Love Guru, Norbit, Catwoman and Gigli...paying full price at the theater versus waste one dime on anything this guy does.
