"Ante up for T-Mac

The Orlando Sentinel is reporting that the Pacers, Rockets and Suns are three teams that have expressed an interest in Tracy McGrady. The Magic, according to a source, have asked the Pacers for Ron Artest, Al Harrington, Jamaal Tinsley and Jonathan Bender in return. Also, the Magic has asked for Cuttino Mobley, Steve Francis and Kelvin Cato from Houston."

No way I want the Suns to dismantle the team for TMac. I don't know if those teams are willing to even come close to those demands, but I want the Suns to keep what we have so far. :)

If I was the Rockets I would trade Mobley and Francis in a heartbeat for T-Mac. Mobley and Francis are two of the most overrated players in the league.

I dont even know why the Magic would want Mobley...guy is pushing 30 and is in the last year of his contract. Only makes sense if they would trade him immediately after aquiring him

They also initially asked for Amare and JJ from us, but that aint gonna happen either. How can the Magic ask these ridiculous prices for T-Mac then only want Francis, Mobley and Cato from the Rockets? The Rockets are insane if that deal has been offered and they haven't accepted yet.

hoopshype is reporting that whatever happens will happen in the next 2 weeks. i have to say, if mcgrady did give houston, phoenix, and indiana as his teams, it will be competing bids from phoenix and indiana that should decide the outcome.

In that case, tmacs supposedly negative history with amare may come into play. it would be great if they could get him for marion, cj, vujanic, and the 7 pick. in fact, here's a quote from weisbrod:

"There are teams offering three guys and their first-round pick. Three established players and a lottery pick is certainly a respectable offer for a team that has a lot of holes to fill," Weisbrod said. "It comes down to making a judgment of how special you think one of these two kids can be."

I think thats GOTTA be the suns offer. NOBODY else of the major suitors is even HAS a lotto pick to offer. either that or he's referring to a modification of a pacers package which includes what is speculated to be artest, 29 pick, harrington, and depending on who you talk to tinsley.

My honest opinion is that if tmac is open to both destinations, he'll probably end up with indiana because they have the best package in theory. defensive players of the year don't come by too often.

I think one thing that Detroit showed was they are a deeper team, also. I would rather develop the guys we have and get deeper, and play 10 good guys, rather than just 5 good guys, and hold your breath when they sit. Man, Shaq barely hit his A$$ on the bench the last game, and Detroit started a run! You gotta have some depth to be a Championship team. With just a couple injuries, LA was sunk! They may have lost anyway, but with MAlone out, and Fisher hobbling around, along with a rusty semi-injured Fox, they ran out of depth quick!

Wow.

A couple of years ago, somebody asked Amare if he had ever met TMac. Amare answered that yes, he had met him, once, for about two minutes, and he thought that TMac was kinda rude.

Are you aware of some “negative history” besides this, or do you think that this might have anything to do with current considerations?

BTW, I agree with everybody else’s assessments of the reported trade offers. If indeed they did make these offers, they’re asking for way too much from us, their demand of Indiana is downright ridiculous, and Houston should be all over the Francis/Mobley/Cato deal, without hesitation.

I'm with you on every point, brother! If there really is any negativity between Amare Stoudemire and Tracy McGrady they will get over it quickly to play together. That said, there's absolutely no way the Suns are going to give Shawn Marion, JJ, and the draft pick. It's just not going to happen... not for Tracy McGrady anyhow.

Now Shaq supposedly wants in at Orlando, and it seems this news comes AFTER McGrady said he wanted out?
