If Larry wants to play he stays. There would be a fan revolution if we let Larry walk away and play for another team. He is in fantastic shape and is an asset to this offense. He certainly is not a detriment.
I totally agree. The others are just saying he isn't worth 11 million. The cap goes up 10 million per team next season, there's his salary pretty much right there. I get what they're saying considering team needs -vs- the cap, but it's Larry & he's still productive. Still in great shape & with pieces in place around him, it could allow him to be open more often. We need a crucial catch, he makes it. Seeing him on another team would absolutely make me sick to my stomach.

If Kyler wants him back...you take him back. I get that 11 mil is an ugly pill to swallow, but at this point in time we are committed to making moves to ensure our rookie QB is comfortable. If that means overpaying for Fitz, we overpay for Fitz.

Bleargh. No, Kyler Murray hasn't earned the right to dictate whether or not the franchise's greatest player in three decades stays or goes. I'm fine with Michael flexing on this and keeping Fitz as long as he wants to stay. In fact, I think it's actually good for the franchise to show that kind of committment, backed by dollars.

but when you got $100 to buy groceries you don't spend $11 on 1 item that just isn't used very often.

The team NEEDS O line and D line WAY WAY WAY more than they need Larry or any other WR.

The Cards can ride with Kirk and the rest ...move that money into O and D line

But, you can bet the house they'll pay him again AND he's gonna take that money to the bank.

Lastly, if you let Larry go to the open market there isn't a team in the league that'd pay him even $7 mill for one year....so why they pay him $11 mill ...doesn't make sense when your system is NOT working.

no one is buying tickets to see Larry anymore....sure if you got a ticket you'll watch for him, but no one is saying, we gotta get a ticket to watch Fitzgerald play....he's the 39th ranked WR in the league right now.

He's way over paid based on production, but why look at production....

You're really arguing over 4 million, not 11 million, because you want to pay him 7 million. Cap is going up by 12 million next year. 4 million is a nothing burger to swallow.

4 million could be the difference in landing someone that is actually still really good and produces or doesn’t... The argument that the cap is going up is totally dumb.

Have we spent $4 million on any real difference makers in the last few years?

We’ve spent more... That could be the difference in being able to extend our LT and being able to pick up other good players... regardless of your position in This. 4 million COULD make a difference. That’s all that matters. Fitz production in a poss first offense doesn’t warrant the salary... PERIOD... It’s bad business and keeping as a mentor which he has shown little ability
In. Or as a recognizable face is just stupid.

If our front office can't find $4 million on the cap somewhere to sign a difference maker, they all deserve to be fired.

not signing Fitz to 8 figures means no need to find :)

I disagree. This team has put such an emphasis and spotlight when acquiring Kyler Murray that the organization is beholden to him to do whatever it takes to make him successful. If we had a more established roster, coach, GM...anything that was able to stand on it's outside of him, I would agree. But when you have a questionable GM, questionable owner, unconventional head coach, and a terrible roster, the QB being successful is the only hope anyone has.

Bring Larry back with a low base and incentives. 11 mill would be ridiculous.

he’s been great but he’s not anymore.

it’s not like he’s given the cards a break when he had the leverage. He’s been well compensated.
