read down past the Vucevic stuff and you'll see KO commenting on an apparent "point" at him by Horne. He says he didn't see it and then makes a joke about Horne saying he's waiting for his NBA career to take off.

I can semi understand Horne holding a grudge, KO on the other hand is supposed to be a bit more professional than that?

Yeah I read that too and thought the EXACT same thing. Stay classy KO. Could you EVER imagine Sean Miller saying somethign like that?

A lot of UA fans want to thank the guy for the work he put in in the 80's but no dice from me. If that ass clown would have gotten more then that one year in 2007, we might never have never been able to recover.

I wish Bayless (who might be the single most talented guy to play at UA IMO) would have had been coached by Lute and not KO. Not sure if he would stayed but I like to think we would have had more success with him if even for just that freshman.

He made a crack about Fendi Onobun too.

KO is the last person that should be commenting on someone's career path considering he's been fired and run out of town everywhere he has coached. Unfortunately this is par for the course for this idiot and a big reason why pretty much everyone in basketball not associated with Arizona's '88 Final Four team hate the guy.

Yeah I just can't believe a guy his age with his history can be like that about a 21 year old kid who probably had good reason to dislike him.

When Justin Holiday was woofing at Howland after making a 3 this year they asked Ben about it after the game and he just said he didn't hear it. He clearly did but what's the point of responding, if he does what KO did he looks like a jerk, better to just say I didn't hear it and let it blow over.

And then tell your guys to lay Justin out the next time.

:D

Even under KO, I think Bayless had the most points scored in a 3 game stretch (?) in UA history.

Damon was never at the UofA when KO was there. KO was instrumental in recruiting many of the Cat players in the late 80's while as an assistant but I guess once he became a head coach, he changed for the worst.

I'm 29 bro so I never saw those guys play in HS or heard of them prior to UA (maybe a little of Damon). And there are tons of guys who went on to more NBA success the JB. And its my opinion soooo.... :)

I just was always a big Bayless guy. Loved his game (specifcally for college), loved his passion for the game, love his attitude.

Could have ended up my fav all time Wildcat. But the KO show was in town and screwed that whole thing up. At the end it didn't even look like the players cared, they just wanted to get the hell out of there and I can't blame them.

I also think Bayless is being underutilized in the NBA. You get him on a team like the Suns and I think he could do things, maybe even be a All Star.

If only he would have gotten better coaching in College;)

Understand. The statement; however, was about Bayless being the most talented player to play for UA. IMO, Elliot and D. Stoudamire were more talented.

Nothing to do with that ass bag KO

Hey clown ;), I am the same age as you, but have been watching UA hoops since I was very young. I got to watch Damon (I have his Toronto Raptors rookie jersey) and a little bit of Elliot back in the day. Great talented players and leaders

And yes, if Bayless would come to the Suns, he'd tear it up.

My thing with Bayless was always some guys are guards and some guys are tweeners. In college he was a guard, in the NBA so far he's a tweener he's not really a PG and a little small to be a 2. He's also never been a great defender which hurts his playing time.

I am surprised he hasn't found a team willing to play him more though and let him learn on the job, look at Monta Ellis, Russell Westbrook etc they both came in as possible tweeners and have found niches(at different positions) by learning OTJ. Bayless is a better shooter than either, but they both play better defense.

Sean Elliott and I were freshmen the same year. Kenny Lofton and Anthony Cook sat next to me in Poli. Sci.

Back then I used to walk over to McKale from my dorm in Arizona Stadium and buy a ticket to the game if I wasn't doing anything important. That was just before the program took off obviously. Good times.

Went to school at a good time as I went with Gil, Gardner, Jefferson, Loren Woods, and later Iggy and my personal fav Luke Walton.

I followed the Cats from about 94 on (when I started really getting into sports), but of course going to school in Tempe, I didn't become obsessive until i saw up close them win in 97 and I started attending in 99.

I think Bayless could have been so much more, especially with 2-3 years of school. Unfortunately hes got that scorers mentaility ith a PG body.

Just such a good shooter and slashing to the basket. Plus of the later years of Lute (like 2004 on) no one wanted to win as bad as Jerryd.

Well there was nothing, NOTHING I say, like being a student at the U when we won the title. Amazing night.

Jealous.

But the first major championship brought to Arizona was something that helped push me to Tucson for school. So it was important to many a people in many a way ;)

To add on - KO and his wife also apparently was drinking all around the Arizona team hotel and hangouts last night not just physically getting into it with Weitman (a 68 year old car dealer, racehorse owner, huge UA booster, and one of Lute's closest friends) but also verbally berating several other Arizona people including some members of the team.

Needless to say this will be must-see TV tonight.

They're saying the wife took a swing at a booster and instead hit the head of security for the Marriott hotel.

Oh well at least his team showed up and played yesterday, mine sure didn't last night.

Rumors are already circulating that KON might not survive the day. Unless the supposed surveillance video surfaces and tells a damning story I can't see USC cutting their own throat today. A win puts them solidly into the tourney and a loss probably keeps them out, IMO.

Oh well at least his team showed up and played yesterday, mine sure didn't last night.

Here's how I heard it second hand from a booster:

Around 4:30pm: KO finishes up his postgame responsibilities and heads right to the Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill at LA Live and begins knocking them back. Has several drinks there for a few hours talking to fans, others, etc. While there after UA game ends he bumps into former UA guard Matt Muehlebach who was grabbing dinner. KO begins riding him about being a Lute Olson/Sean Miller ass kisser, UA sucks, etc. to the point where Muehlebach almost has to be restrained. Keep in mind MM is a well-respected attorney in Tucson.

6:30pm or so: KO heads over to the JW Marriott very close by where his team is staying still very intoxicated. Goes to the bar there and drinks more which is where the infamous pictures were taken. Also around this time Derrick Williams and Momo Jones return to hotel and are met in the lobby by a still drunk KO. KO begins to taunt them about how USC will "kick their f'ing ass tomorrow" and other things. Momo says something back and KO refers to him as a **** but the long version. Someone steps in and gets the players back to their rooms.

9:00pm or so: As Paul Weitman comes back to hotel, KO decides to have it out with the 70 year old booster in the lobby again only this time with wife in tow. KO always has blamed Lute and Weitman for getting him fired from UA and he lets it be known to Weitman for the second time. First time Weitman ended up getting popped by Roberta O'Neill and this incident ended up no different. This time after two incidents in the lobby with a drunk KO the Marriott security guards escort him and his wife out of the building.

Quite the guy.

EDIT - Talked to someone closer to the situation who said they were at JW Marriott bar all night and not Wolfgang Puck's.
