You have a vivid imagination, Yuma.

But don't worry. The Suns will not trade Stoudemire. I don't think there's a player in the league they would trade him for, except maybe Duncan, who of course isn't an option.

It states no such thing. It quotes Kupchak as saying, “I think we’re going to keep Kobe.” That’s an expression of confidence, not of certainty. It’s no more meaningful than the “promises” from Rick Fox and Kobe Bryant that the Lakers would win Game 5.

Well, Kupchak at least has a better chance of being right than they did. :D

C'mon Cap, If I said "I am getting a new car." You are probably going to say, "Yuma didn't SAY he was going to BUY a car!" However Kupchak stated it, bottom line it meant Kobe was going to resign, thus extending his stay with the Lakers. I guess I have to connect the dots for everyone! ;)

Something tells me that the Hulk doesn't quite have the grasp of English that Yuma's more normal alter-ego has. Your posts are usually nowhere near this bizarre. I haven't checked -- are we having a full moon or something?

WRONG EVIL, Kobe TOLD MITCH he wants to stay on the Lakers! That's NOT saying nothing! DID YOU EVEN READ THE ARTICLE????

READ THE FRIGGING ARTICLE AND LOOK AT THE THREAD TITLE! GEEZ! :hulk:

Calm down there Yuma! Take a deep breath

Yes I did, it looks like you are trying way too hard to read between the lines.

From the article:

"I think we're going to keep Kobe," Kupchak said. "Part of that is based on conversations I've had with him. I've talked to his representatives. I think this is the place where he started his career and this is the place where he should end his career. I don't think any other city appreciates him as much as this one does."

My argument is that this is not a certainty. You might be right and Kobe will stay in LA but I'm going to say it is a certainty based on how the Lakers GM thinks is going to happen. If Kobe said it himself thats one thing but I'm not going simply based on the opinion of the Lakers GM.

There could be factors between now, the time free agency starts, and when he signs his new contract that may change his mind. I don't know what is going to happen but I do know nothing is a sure thing at this point

He didn’t say, “I am getting a new car.” It was more analogous to “I think I am getting a new car.” Even that’s not really a good analogy, because buying the car is entirely your own decision. A better analogy would be, “I think I am getting the job I interviewed for yesterday. Part of that is based on the interview. They seemed really positive. I don’t think any other candidate appreciates this opportunity as much as I do.” Well, people have been known to say things like that and not get the job. Happens all the time.

You know the whole thing I am responding to, is everyone says the title of this thread is TOTALLY MISLEADING! I just scanned a bunch of thread titles in this forum that don't say what's inside the thread accuratly, yet MINE are the ONLY ones that are misleading! I've read a bunch of threads, that I came away thinking, that wasn't anything like I thought it would be from the title. Yet, if I responded to the thread, it was about WHAT WAS INSIDE, not whining, "You tricked me into reading this because the title is soooo misleeaaadddiiinnnggg! wahhhhhh!" Geez, you guys want to kill the messenger, fine! It still doen't make what Kupchak said go away. If Kupchak feels Kobe is going to ultimatly resign based on his knowledge, WHICH IS A LOT FREAKIN BETTER THAN ANY OF OURS, don't yell at me because Kobe isn't coming here! Get over it! Wahhh, Kobe's not coming to play Mommy! :D

Yeah, that's exactly WHY he hedged at all. He doesn't want to look like an idiot and say, KObe already told me he is signing with us 100%!" In the event it doesn't happen he looks like a fool. Nothing in life is 100% except you ARE going to die! However, we do base decisions as "sure" things that are not so. He was told by Kobe AND his Representatives that Kobe would resign, but until he inks for sure, Kupchak isn't going to say that. He can say just what he did, they told him they were going to resign with the team. He CAN'T GUARANTEE it, so we are just playing semantics at this point! ;) Bottom line is Kobe is extending his stay in LA, and thus NOT coming to Phoenix. You guys can keep hope alive that Kobe is coming, but it's like me trying to wish the Lakers into beating Detroit, it ain't gonna happen! :D

Yuam - are you a closet Laker fan? I mean cheering for them in the Finals because they're from the Western Conference and today? Well I don't know what to think.

Guess I am just "Old School." You cheer on your conference, even when your team isn't in the fight. If I was a Union soldier, I would cheer on another troop to win in a battle with the South, even if I didn't like their soldiers, or General! :D

I wouldn’t really care who wins. I’d just watch the battle, have a beer and some popcorn, and enjoy the action.

Fine, from now on I'll write on those threads and state the same thing.

It still doen't make what Kupchak said go away.

True but it doesn't make his opinion fact either.

From a sports fan's perspective, I've seen many instances of "player speak". Where a player will say something along the lines of "I'm happy to be here. I don't want to go anywhere." to everybody then when the FA period hits and they see more money or a better situation, they are gone without any hesitation.

So its tough to take anything said seriously until the FA agent period starts (and even then its tough to decipher what is real and what is just speculation). Kobe's real intentions aren't known by anybody except Kobe and IMO I don't think he is sure about what he is going to do yet.

Well, one of the most important offseasons (hell, maybe THE most important) in our club's history is getting off to a rousing start! :p

For the record, I have softened my stance a bit on Igoudala, mainly because there isn't anything better. I DO, however, still advocate trading the pick away.
