Yes, it's the quarterback's fault that his receivers, after all of spring training and the entire season, STILL can't catch the ball he throws, even tho it's their FREEKING JOB to do just that. Yeah, blame the arm motion or the release point.

Hey, if receivers can catch Michael Vick's bullet shot from the left side, a Hasselbeck ball should be no sweat.

Yeah thats what I did, blamed it all on Hasselback!

It isnt about arm strength or a bullet but about the spin on the ball and the trajectory of the throw. Both jackson and Robinson as well as Rice had issues with dropsies last year.

One common thread: Hasselback was throwing them the ball.

I still believe it is their fault but some QB's throw a more catchable ball then others, and in this case, I would bet Hasselback's throws might be a little less than catchable!

Once the ball leaves the QB's hands, it's catchable if it touches you. I don't care who the receiver is, if you're open and the ball bounces off your chest, it's your fault. The QB is not responsible for 'changing is trajectory' or 'amount of spin' on his spiral. That's the bottom line.

Perhaps it's the receivers coach that's to blame? Also, Rice dropped more than his share last year in Oakland, if anyone remembers, as did "Mr. Raider" Tim Brown. You going to blame Gannon or Collins for Rice and Brown dropping passes too?

I'm certainly not going to blame Gannon or Collins for Tim Brown's dropped passes last year. (Psssstt..... He played in Tampa last year!)

Birth to 32, Phoenix. Now, enemy territory.
First, I hope we stay far away from KoRo. He does not fit with the team that Denny is trying to build here.

As for the Seahawks dropsies, it's all mental and has nothing to do with Hasselbeck's ball. All it takes is a couple of dropped passes and pretty soon the negative thoughts start to fill your head. Next thing it's all the media can talk about, and it snowballs from there. Now, instead of expecting to catch the ball, they all say, "oh ****, I better not drop this one." It's similar in basketball with free-throws. A couple of early misses, and the frustration and angst spreads so that soon the whole team can't buy one.

So you are saying there is no correlation between dropped passes and the way the QB throws the ball? Hmmm...well that is not what a seasoned QB coach willl tell you. QB coaches all the time work on the trajectory of passes thrown, how the ball is handled, the grip, etc etc. All of that is so they throw a more "catchable" ball.

Like I said before, I am not blaming Hasselback for Jacksons, Rice, Robinsons, AND Engrams drops last year, but I am pretty confident that at least a small part of it stems from the way Hasselback throws the ball. And thats the real "Bottom Line"!

And I would agree that a lot of that is very true. I wasnt suggesting it was all Hasselback, just that he too plays a role in it.

I would take a chance on him. Give him a short-term, incentive laced, contract, and if he doesn't give great effort. CUT HIM!!

Go Cards!!!

Scratch those thoughts. Forget about Koren.
