For a raw rookie who was always considered a "developmental" pick he has done better than expected. That being said I don't think we can pencil him in as a starter next season, at all.

Yeah he might be solid depth which the Cardinals are in desperate need of especially on the OL but they still need to add another starter at OT.

It would be nice if Humphries gets healthy and start again at LT and see how Cunningham does at RT for the rest of the season. Andre Smith needs to be cut.

I think that will happen Sunday because there's no way Humphries is sitting out another week.

I'll make sure to catch the Big Red Rage this week to see if Wolfley has the stones to ask DJ what he thought of Cunningham's performance the past two weeks.

I am leaning hard to getting rid of Humphries. To date he has only played in 27 of 43 games. That is 63% of the game played since he has been on the roster. It's pretty hard to have continuity on a line when your LT misses that many games. He has missed an entire season in less than 3 years. Maybe he would do better at guard.

The injury issue is an issue. That being said, Humphries is still young and is capable when he plays. It is a big decision, and not sticking with Humphries moving forward creates another hole.

In my mind, if you had more stability next to Humphries, his issues would not be as magnified. So many linemen struggle to play all games that you almost have to factor a couple games missed into your roster. That is why guys like Cole are so valuable. Being able to play as many snaps as he has in his rookie season shows that he has a unique body that can take the beating.

Letting Humphries go would be a big mistake. What else do we have when we also have other way more pressing needs?

Keeping him because it creates another need is not reason to keep him. ARZ just needs to go find a suitable replacement this offseason rather than pay $9.5M for an average LT. ARZ may need to take a LT in either Round 1 or 2. I know I haven't been a fan of Jonah Williams but if he can play LT in NFL then maybe we take him at #2 or trade down and take him. That or we hope Andre Dillard is available in Round 2. I am not a fan of Greg Little as he looks like he will be a bust with his inconsistency, reminds me if Humphries.

What I think happens:

1. keep DJ at LT for next season at $9.5mm. Its avg pay for a avg LT
2. Cunningham plays RT, hopefully justifies early returns on his play.

between Pugh, FAs and the draft -- the need becomes finding two starting guards.

after 2019: I think DJ leaves and Cunningham moves to LT. hopefully at that time, a RT has been developed to step in.

ugh. That's a lot of contingency there

He allowed just 2 pressures in 2 games
Considering we dont have a legit offense and the defense use to play more snaps then the average in the league, are good numbers for a rookie
Lineman are difficult to evaluate and thats why i wouldnt invest a top pick on them, the nfl shows many players selected in the later rounds are starters
He has the best grades so far
