okay -- this is interesting:

Jude starts off by saying: "they told us they would bring in Stanton. They did it. They told us they would make major changes to the safety situation. They did. They told us they would address the RB situation. They did. Now to the draft........... they will take a page from the 49ers and get young where they need to get young, and take offensive linemen in two of the first three rounds"

The only reason i post this is that is sure sounded like LaCava had an off the record sit down with the Cardinal front office --- and in the course of his monologue, sounds like he was told that the CArds are going heavy o-line in the draft.

Also -- he noted that Harold Goodwin is an excellent coach and will take a much more active and hands on approach than Grimm , he considers the move a coaching upgrade.

Take it for what its worth

Not a shocker...A blocking sled would've been an upgrade over Grimm.

I call bunk on this one. he may be a better coach no doubt. But that still is yet to be determined.

But Grimm was VERY hands on. He was basically the only OL coach and at every practice I saw he was coaching directly. VERY HANDS ON! The OL wasnt out there running **** themselves.

I'd be happy if it were Lane Johnson and Jonathan Cooper----IF he lasts until the 2nd round.

It was reported that when Grimm would work 1x1 with a player, the rest would just be standing around...that's not a good thing.

I dont disagree. But he was CERTAINLY about as hands on as you can get. He just had nobody helping.

Meh. Working with one guy while others stand around is not hands on. It's stupid.

Depends on what you call hands on.

While he may have been hands on teaching technique in practices we don't know how hands on he was as far as developing gameplans or blocking schemes.

For what it's worth I heard Drew Stanton say in an interview that if he had questions about blocking schemes or line calls that he didn't understand he could go directly to Goodwin to get all the info he wanted.

Stanton called him "Goody" and said he was extremely knowledgeable and helpfull with getting everyone on the same page.

He couldn't sing Goodwin's praises high enough.

Maybe Grimm should have been more hands on in those areas as well as teaching offensive line technique.

After all he was at various times run game coordinator and assisstant head coach.

We'll see if the Cards go BPA. If LaCava is correct, which I doubt, and the Cards are set on going OT then OG we'll quickly know if they take Lane Johnson at 7 and pass on guys like Warmack, Jones, Milliner, or Jordan.

That is music to my ears. If there is any area that the Cardinals are totally inferior to San Francisco and Seattle it is in the offensive line. Outside of Levi Brown is there anybody on the Cardinal O-line who would even make the roster of those two teams let alone start?

Thanks for posting!

Come on man, Snyder started for SF before we were lucky enough to snatch him away from them. :D

Rich Bartel talked about this (Grimm) when he was on XTRA a few weeks back. He said Grimm is hands down the smartest OLine coach he's ever been around when it comes to creating schemes etc. He said Grimm's weakness may have been focusing too much on scheme and not enough on player development and technique. It was pretty interesting.

LT with a ton of athletic ability and good size. Strong showing at the Senior bowl. I would be shocked if he made it out of the top 15.

Typical workout phenom. When the season ended his tape warranted no better than a 2nd or 3rd round pick.

Heck.... He wasn't even one of the top 4 lineman at the Senior Bowl. And Warmack, Joeckel, and others didn't even go.

Now because of the combine.... He's a riser.

Wrong. He starting rising at the Senoir Bowl where he did nothing but open eyes.

The Combine just continued that trend.

LTs are so hard to come by he will be selected early in the 1st round just for his potential at the postition.
