After the Los Angeles Lakers traded Anthony Davis, Max Christie and a future first-round draft pick to the Dallas Mavericks for Luka Doncic, they needed to plug a couple of holes in their roster. One of those holes was the backup shooting guard spot.

To patch that hole, they turned to their G League affiliate and called up Jordan Goodwin, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound 26-year-old. He quickly showed that he's a player who will always compete and hustle hard, and he has also shown some promise as a floor-spacer.

Since being called up, he has averaged 6.4 points, 3.9 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.2 steals in 20.5 minutes a game while shooting 47% from the field and 41.3% from 3-point range for the Lakers.

He will now be eligible to appear in postseason games for them, as his two-way contract has reportedly been converted into a standard contract. In order to clear a roster spot for him, they waived forward Cam Reddish.

Via ESPN:

"The Los Angeles Lakers have converted two-way guard Jordan Goodwin to a standard two-year NBA contract and waived forward Cam Reddish, the team announced Thursday," wrote Shams Charania.

Although Reddish started in 26 games last season, his first with L.A., he has been a big disappointment. In two seasons with the team, he averaged 4.5 points a game and shot just 39.3% from the field.

He has played in just two games since the end of January.
