In a word ... WOW!

The Lakers didn't even bother to show up for the 2nd half. This is just getting ugly and I couldn't be happier

Welcome to the Suns Kobe Bryant

OK, I am starting to doubt... Let's change the thread into Suns trade for Ben Wallace. Why would Detroit do this? They have the GREAT Darko Milicic on the bench! ;) That's a waste of big men! :D

Ben Wallace for JJ and Matrix? :hulk:

Detroit's defense is incredible!!
Our team can learn a thing or two from watching this game

Hopefully this game will convince Kobe to leave LA and come to the Suns ;)

Hey did you see that Germany vs. Holland match today?

The Dutch side's Ruud Van Nistelrooy tied it with a brilliant strike in the 81st minute to earn a well-deserved draw.

Wow! What a game!

Here's something to think about...

The Pistons are going to win this Championship and the only player that they will probably lose is Okur (They should be able to re-sign Rasheed). This team is going to be good for a while

BTW Who's everybody's choice for series MVP? My choice is Billups

The article on the Bobcats said they may pick up Eldon Campbell, and that would allow Detroit to pick Okur up money-wise!

I say Ben Wallace embodies the Pistons, so he should get it! :hulk:

Phil Jackson got owned this series. Good job on making absolutely no adjustments and watching your team get dismantled.

Good run Lake show. Four Conference Championships in five years and a three-peat. Nothing to be ashamed about, it had to end eventually.

No matter what happens, they'll be back before the end of the decade (if Mitch Kupchak figures it out) because it is the Lakers we're talking about and they're never bad for too long.

I would have voted for Ben Wallace for MVP, for basically the same reasons Doc Rivers said -- it's a team built on defense and hustle, and Wallace leads the way. But Billups is fine too, no big deal.

I didn't think it was possible for the Lakers to lose, but I'm glad I was wrong!

I think this could be a turning point for the entire league. You can look at next season and immediately identify at least four teams (Detroit, San Antonio, Minnesota, Indiana) who can say they have a good chance. That hasn't been true for a quarter century. It wouldn't surprise me at all to see overall interest in the league be significantly higher next year.

By the way, Milicic looked awful in his two garbage time minutes, LOL.

Any team with Shaq has a chance. If Kobe leaves, and Karl retires, who knows what Mitch Kupchak pulls out of the hat. Next year may be too soon, but I wouldn't put a bet against Shaq in his last Laker year. :hulk: I think we stand a chance of getting to the second round depending on our young guy's progress this off season. That's even if we don't get Kobe. :D

If Kobe leaves - the Lakers are a .500 club - Kupchak has done nothing in the draft - given George a ridiculous contract and singed two geriatrics - The next three weeks are all about one thing and one thing only in LA - SHAQ V. KOBE and being in LA it's gonna fun to see this city tear each tear each other apart - If the Lakers lose KObe for nothing, I can't wait to see whow mediocre SHAQ IS AND I CAN'T WAIT TO BEAT THEIR ASS WITH THEIR GOLDEN BOY - THE RAPIST! The Laker bickering is already starting - radio hosts cutting people off, fights breaking out - welcome to HELL A!

My guess is I'll wake up tomorrow morning about 5:00 a.m., turn on the news and see upside down ice-cream trucks on fire in L.A.

Guys will be running down the street with those TV/VCR combo's just looted from some pawn shop. It's going to be ugly tonight.

Let the Kobe/Shaq/Phil/Mouth/Third Person sniping begin...

.... oh, it's going to be a great summer! :)

I'm driving down to L.A. tomorrow. I want both ice cream and a new TV.

I'm so glad the Lakers lost. I'm just sick of them. Sick of hearing about the "unstoppable" duo of Shaq and Kobe, sick of Shaq winning rings after screwing Orlando, sick of hearing so much about Phil Jackson and his triangle offense.

Trading Ben Wallace to get Grant Hill looked like such a good idea for Orlando at the time...

So much for the Western Conference Dominance that was force fed this year.

bye bye lakers.

Couldn't be happier about the outcome.

"Who's your favorite basketball team?"

"The Suns and whoever is playing the Lakers."

I am going to go outside and flip over my neighbor's car in celebration. It is just THAT exciting.

I'm so glad that the Lakers lost. Most important is also that it's obvious to everyone now that the Lakers won't have any chance against these Pistons next season, with only their MLE addition even if they don't break up the team!

But, the Pistons are not automatically gonna win the title next year either. They might not get past the Pacers like in this year, since the latter have all in all equal or even more favorable matchups with the Pistons.

Anyway, for Kobe, the fastest way back to the Finals is likely via joining the Suns, which with JJ, Amare, Barbosa have potentially good individual defenders to match up with the Pistons and the rest of the league. It may take them the next two years to get to the (defensive and offensive) smartness level the Pistons now posses, but this is the best shot Kobe can get, unless the Lakers could find favorable trades to ship Shaq. It's gonna be interesting.
