Why were the fans cheering when Kobe got hurt?

Because they think this is Philly.

Who knows...some people are just classless. Many of them cheered when he returned in though, so that's nice...they outnumbered the classless ones, I think.

Kobe was hurt? Was it anything like the corner who grabs his hamstring and starts to limp when the wide receiver scores a touchdown? :)

No. His ankle legitimately twisted and I cursed Phil Jackson out loud...

It's not totally clear the Suns fans were chearing Kobe being hurt, or just forgot to stop cheering for how the team was playing well. I would guess some people would cheer Kobe's injury, but Im sure that was most of the fans.

What was wrong with what he said?

"It's not totally clear the Suns fans were chearing Kobe being hurt, or just forgot to stop cheering for how the team was playing well." this statement is simply ridiculous. The Lakers had the ball, Kobe got hurt and the crowd started cheering, LOUD. It's not rocket science to figure out why the cheering got really loud at that point.

it was a classless move made by our fans.

And stayed loud when he was down. Even the announcers commented on it.

The announcers commented but after reading this I went back to the game on TIVO. People here are blowing it way out of proportion. It cleary was not the majority of the crowd. If you go back a couple plays on a Suns bucket, the fans were clearly much louder.

It was a minority of classless fans and even they shut up real quick right about the time that the announcers commented. It was not majority or most of the fans as being suggested.

I think he's right...I watched the game...there was some cheers, but you didn't know if it was because Barbosa got fouled or what.

And it died down AND people cheered when he got up.

I agree with whoever said something...it's being blown out of proportion.

You also need to keep in mind that when he got up, there were quite a few fans that were cheering that he was not seriously hurt.

As CM and others said, completely out of proportion.

that's fine and dandy, but I'm not talking about those fans. I'm talking about the idiots that were cheering when he was down.

They were only cheering because he had avoided breaking his leg. Yeah that is it. They were glad he only twisted the ankle.

who suggested that, except you just now? There doesn't have to be a majority of people, or even a group louder than a 1000 for cheering to be loud. Cardinals games are proof of that!

I felt that people were cheering not knowing that he was injured. It seemed at first that he just fell down and was slow to get up. When the replay was then seen - the cheers died down almost immediately.

They also cheered him upon his return and lack of limp. Personally, I don't want to see my enemy have any excuses, so I was upset with Phil as well for keeping him in the game during the blowout and then seeing him injured really pissed me off as well.

But let's not forget, this is the same guy that raped a girl.... yeah, yeah, it was never proven in a court of law, yeah, yeah... and OJ never killed anyone either....

Yeah yeah, but the majority of the country believes OJ did based on the evidence, and that Kobe didn't based on the evidence.
