Lakers @ Suns Tuesday Playoff game thread 5-25-2021 - Game #2

Well this will likely go 7 now if we’re to win IMO. How in the hell did Ayton end up with 0 FTs? Good to see him stepping up when it counts though, this should give him a ton of confidence heading into next year regardless of outcome.

Bridges being a no show is a big deal IMO.

Bridges and Ayton both have to show up with a healthy CP3. With an unhealthy CP3 we are screwed if they both don’t.

We can’t win this series unless Paul seriously improves health wise. The end of this game is exactly why. Instead of easy buckets and clutch shots this team sputters. They looked like the old Suns down the stretch without Paul.

Really, we just need Paul back to about 90%. No one can say for sure whether he'll be at that level the next game, or even the rest of the series. But it's not impossible, either.

Hopefully. But right now he’s like 20-30%.

Suns got nothing out of anyone not named Booker or Ayton in the first half. Got something from Payne, Johnson, and Crowder in the fourth, and damn-near won the game. They can take a game in LA and win this whole thing. Neither James nor AD look right. Lakers didn't beat the Suns tonight- Suns beat the Suns.

Ehh. Yes and no imo.. this is why I just chalk this one up to a loss that could have gone either way. Neither team played amazing ball.

With Paul hurting no one stepped up to help Booker and Ayton except Payne. It wasn't enough.

I wish the Suns had given Moore some playing time.

The guys played well. Lakers didn't look so scary we coulda/shoulda had this one.
Monte still refuses to call timeouts when most other coaches would.
Use the bench, Craig played 5 min...Why? Why was Jevon not on Shroder?

The hardest thing to take at this point is that it's pretty clear that minus the CP injury, we would be killing the Lakers at this point and a sweep wouldn't be out of the question.

sure. But that’s a) asking him to score above his season average and b) he’s a role player. The game was tight, we put our “superstar” back in the game and fell apart.

End of the day, it’s a star league, ESPECIALLY in the playoffs. Book had a chance to show he belongs in that discussion by taking over against the defending champs at home and didn’t get it done. Let’s see what he does in Game 3.

22/10 on 11/13 from the field not only that he’s battling AD and Drummond by his damn self. Dario has been horrible and we don’t have another big

His lack of physicality will be tested more and more moving forward. I think if the imbalance of his free throws to ADs continues that will put a ton of pressure on this team from the outside. Not ideal against this Lakers team.
