No specific rumor here ... I just read (as I'm sure many of you have) that one idea being kicked around is doing a sign-and-trade with Erick Dampier to facilitate an O'Neal-to-Dallas trade. The Lakers would get Dampier and some other Dallas players, while the Warriors would get a big salary from Dallas (Walker?) and, presumably, some other talent or picks.

I think the O'Neal trade machinations are even more interesting than the quetsion of where Bryant goes. O'Neal's salary is so large that the very mechanism of a trade is already extremely difficult. It's going to take a fair amount of cooperation from two or three teams just to get any sort of reasonable deal, and I think it will be very interesting to watch develop.

Cuban won't trade Dirk.

I don't think Nash would agree to be signed and traded to LA. He would rather sign with us I think.

Who will the Lakers get? Dampier and Finley? I don't know. That can't be very appealing to Kobe either.

Yes he will. Eventually he'll realize that he can have either Nowitzki or O'Neal, but not both. He will choose O'Neal.

Cuban is a businessman. He'll change his mind when it suits him.
