23 pts, 12 reb, 2 blocks, 0 turnovers on 50% shooting.
I had a feeling this kid was going to be good, will be interesting to see how he pans out.

IT's weird watching players come and go in the modern NBA. I'd always admired Grant and Thomas when they were on other teams (didn't know much about Jones or Bell) and now they are on my favorite. At the same time I'll be watching more Hornets games than I ever thought I would before to check in on Lampe and Vroman. Looking forward to the 27th when I get to see Cabarkapa in action again (hopefully) and I might catch a few Knick games to spite myself (I'm a Nate Robinson fan from his college days and was incredibly excited to read the Suns drafted him only to be let down a few seconds later in reading that they traded him).

He looked really impressive in Vegas. I don't know if his numbers showed it, but I got the impression that he really turned the corner development wise.

After talking to player personel man (now GM, again), he was really happy with him as well. He was expecting big things this year, and maybe he was right

At this point I wish you guys were serious. I guess there isn't much room for project players but he sure has potential (as I guess we're seeing now).

It's always been obvious that Lampe had potential... the question was whether he'd realize much of it. If he got hot firing away from long range then it's of little significance because he only got one assist in 36 minutes - meaning he's not developed a real high post game. On the other hand if he got a bunch of close in baskets then it's a good sign that he's moving in where his big, strong body is most useful. (The 'shot chart' was missing for that game so I couldn't see where his shots were taken.)

I'm not saying he's a rising star becuase of one preseason game, I just thought it was nice to see a very strong showing from Lampe against the tough Spurs defense. I really hated it when we gave him away to NO, because I think he has the potential to be an 18 pt, 8 reb contributor with size.

He is a free agent next year right? I am sure he would like to be back with the Suns. He could fill the roll of Grant if he bolts next year or at least Pat Burke

this is like my worst nightmare if it plays out....the two players i never wanted the suns to get rid of and whom both i liked better than barbosa (and continue too actually) were Caparkapa and Lampe. I mean i wish i would have been on htis board when they played here because i was convinced Lampe was the real deal. i knew it would take time for both though cuz they are not as mentally strong as the players who come from here for the most part. sigh. igoudala is the one i would have liked the most but i think in the long run we will miss zarko, lampe, and nate robinson in that we could have had them all and i think they will be fine players.....

If you want those players back then you would also have to take back.
Casey, Vorman, Voskul, Cezary Trybanski, and Big Jake

Magic Lamp in tha house. I actually ran into him at CNBC last year, surprised the hell out of me, he had a Yankee fitted on with a T-shirt with a picture of Biggie and an iced out chain. He is a big time hip hop head I guess, I just never figured him to be that kinda guy. Cool kid, I wish him well in New Orleans (or wherever they will be playing this year).

I agree I liked Zarko and Lampe. But Zarko wanted more playing time and the Suns were a little upset when he didn't come in during that summer. Lampe was included in the trade which sucks but when we traded him I was holding out hope that he would come back after free agency.

Chalk another one up who was a big Lampe fan and one who disliked seeing him go.

IMHO, he was the prize of the Marbury deal, and in his draft class he was projected as a lottery pick who managed to fall mightily for contract reasons.

Good point, but you can't ignore the success of Gasol and Nowitzki. Granted, they're hardly defensive stoppers but...
