He'll be fired within three years.

With his past history recruiting, his offensive background, and that coaching staff I disagree entirely. His energetic intense attitude (combined with coaching acumen and recruiting) goes over real well in college.

I think he will be challenging for SEC championships with Bama and UF by year 2.

You mean when USC basically ushered him out the door in favor of Sarkisian?

Um, no. Kiffin is all flash and no substance. He's a breath of hot air, kind of like Mike Stoops on steroids. Kiffin's teams will be just like him - extremely talented on on paper but stupid, reckless, and mentally weak.

Pretty safe prediction. He's also going up against two giant recruiting machines in Florida and Alabama. He could end up with the third best recruiting class in the country -- and still only be third best in the SEC. Vols fans will only tolerate that for so long.

2009 Schedule:

Western Kentucky (W)
UCLA (W)
At Florida (L)
OHIO UNIVERSITY (W)
AUBURN (W)
GEORGIA (L)
At Alabama (L)
SOUTH CAROLINA (W)
MEMPHIS (W)
At Ole' Miss (L)
VANDERBILT (W)
At Kentucky (W)

Does that seem reasonable to have them going 8-4 or 9-3?

I don't see them beating Florida or Alabama on the road. They have a cakewalk non conference schedule expect for UCLA, but we don't know which UCLA team will show up, and it's a home game for them. I could also see South Carolina beating them.

Thoughts?
