He's not listed on nfl.com, so he must still be on the street.

Looks like another case of us fans overrating one of our players.

The only poeple who thoght cutting Moore was a huge mistake were anti-Green radicals trying to find a reason to criticize. I said it then and I'll say it again - the guy had as many penalties as tackles, only in Cardinal land is such a player considered worthy.

I wasn't anti-green at the time of the cutting, and I thought it was a mistake. It's nice to see Watson playing as well as he is and proving me wrong.

I didn't like it at the time but I do now because watson is playing well and cooper has been a big surprise to me. Case of Cooper fitting our system a lot better than he did in Oakland or SF there he was a tweener, here he's "Versatile."

Like Pariah said I'm glad to be wrong on that one although I do wonder why we waited so long on Watson, was he injured?

I thought it was a mistake at the time as well. We now know that Watson is ready to play. He had only seen spot duty until then.

There's a difference between a "mistake" and a "huge mistake." No one who knew anything about the guy thought that it would make a ripple.

He wasn't good enough to make any team in the NFL think twice about cutting their 4th DT to sign him up. That speaks volumes.

Look, if you don't think that Langston Moore wasn't the best defensive lineman the Cardinals had, then you don't know football.

And if you don't think that Calvin Pace has all the makings of a stud strongside linebacker, and think that strongside linebackers occaisonally need to be effective in coverage, then you also don't know football.

I don't want to talk to people on a message board, because they don't understand the game.

Regards,

Hardy Brown.
Not only is your post inaccurate, it is totally unnecessary. It's not like the guy, Hardy, pulled a Tango!!!

Then you apparently don't remember this blast:

Hardy Brown said:
You guys have made me realize one thing: message-boards are for fans. It reminds me why, to this day, I can't sit in the stands and listen to some of the things some people say. Most of them just don't know what they're talking about. And the worst part is...they act like they do.

The vast majority of this great forum is hungry for informed, educated information, regardless of whether it proves them right or wrong. That's awesome. Keep that attitude and do what you can to stay positive.

Fans should be able to rant and rave, regardless of whether they're right, wrong or just plain uninformed. You should be able to state your opinion without reserve. It's part of being a fan and without you guys there is no passion; if there's no passion, there's no interest; if there's no interest, people don't get paid.

Hey, maybe you like being told that you don't know anything about football by a guy who jocked Calvin Pace, Langston Moore, Milford Brown, and Antrel Rolle during training camp and then disappeared.

It was guys like Cheesie and I who assured everyone that Karlos Dansby and Kendrick Clancy would straighten their business out and be on the field and contributing once the season starts. It was "darksiders" like me and Cheese who suggested that Calvin Pace may not, in fact, be a contributor in the NFL. Hardy claimed that that was an illustration about how we "don't know what [we're] talking about.

Two months into the season, and Langston Moore was cut and not a single other team wanted him. Calvin Pace is buried on the depth chart despite the fact that Orlando Huff is stinking up the field. Antrel Rolle keeps waiting to make a big play (you don't draft a guy 6th overall for 8 passes defensed but no picks or sacks or fumbles six games into the season and been clearly outplayed by a 3rd round choice from the same year).

Are there people here with stupid opinions? Sure. But saying that Calvin Pace has been a disaster since he was drafted and would be a disaster again this season is not a stupid one. It's been perpetually justified by #97. I just don't appreciate being told that I don't know anything about football by a guy who isn't going to come back and admit that apparently he doesn't know as much as he thought he did, either.

Oh, I remember it...

I happen agree with it!!!

Thing is, I would consider you a knowledgable fan k9.

But the same as most of us, you aren't as knowledgable as you think you are. Further, like all of us you like to beat your own chest when right, yet are loathe to admit when wrong.

I think K9 was dead on. Ther must be more to it to get a "rest". I did see Calvin Pace throw his helmet down in disgust when Rackers missed does that count for anything  . I said when we drafted Pace that i'd just assume they drafted Calvin Peete. They've both have had about the same productivity.

K9's problem isn't a matter of "right" and "wrong" (he's generally in the plus column on that count), it's that he's such a major arse about it.

Maybe I'm wrong, but I seem to remember quite a bit of favorable comment about Moore in preseason, in the newspaper and on the board, and of course he was a starting DT at least into the SF game. I'm saying nothing about the Hardy Brown comment--I don't even remember seeing it--but there were quite a few people who had the same opinion of Moore. I'm surprised he wasn't picked up--yes, he had penalties, but so does Big and he's listed as a top free agent. Other teams think they can wash off the Cardinal curse with better coaching--and often, sadly, they're right.

The Cards have not won a single game since Langston Moore was released. That should tell you something.

That's why I started this thread. I thought he had showed enough ability to get into the backfield to get another chance by now. I wasn't that upset when he was cut, because I knew Watson had to get onto the field. And, Cooper has been a nice surprise. Honestly, hasn't he given us just as much as Moore did? And, he can play DE.

I do think Moore will get another opportunity with a team at some point.

I didn't like the cut because Watson hadn't played a snap. Then he didn't play in Atlanta. Now that Watson is playing, the cutting of Moore is totally acceptable.

If right is defined by changing the subject and then turn very aggressive and personal, so make people forget, that he was in fact proven wrong, then K9 is the king...

Just look at this rant about Hardy's comments. What the story doesn't tell right now, is that Hardy numerous times exposed K9 for not knowing all aspects of football. Funny, that's it's HArdy's comments about Moore being a awesome #4 DT (which is a minor detail IMO) in the NFL that's gets pulled up - NOT K9's lack of understanding of coverage schemes or OL schemes, which was the real discussion between the two.

This is a fan board. There are various degrees of football knowlegde on this board. None of us are all-knowing football experts and that's fine and the whole idea with this board. What I don't understand is people, who think they're back in the schoolyard, and yelling the loudest means that they know more about football than people not being so vocal.

Denver and at least two other teams are interested in Moore. Oddly enough, all are concerned as to why he was waived. There is concern by the interested parties that there could be other issues. This is from a source that is very close to Moore.

Basically, they can't figure out why a guy that is that talented would be waived by the Cards. They worry it's a hidden injury, attitude or drugs.....which isn't the case at all. It's a Green thing.

Lars...you are hitting the nail on the head...don't be surprised if there is some issue that prompted his release...the reason is that Green could have easily released Ferri (at the time he was still on the 53 man roster), knowing he could re-sign him to the practice squad...

Good, powerful NFL DTs do not grow on trees...which is why the Cardinals or any other team would want to hold on to as many good ones as they can.

Moore does have very good ability...yes, he had trouble staying onsides...but that is correctable.

Other teams know that the Cardinals are now deep at DT...which means that the Cardinals actually might have gotten a 6th or 7th round pick for Moore from a team like the Giants who are very thin at DT...the fact that Moore was quickly release further implies that there was some issue (attitude, steroids, alcohol abuse, drug abuse)...something, or so it would seem.

And the fact that no other team has picked him up to date, makes one wonder even more.
