I don't really understand this pick too much. I would have liked Sheets, Jeremiah Johnson, or Ian Johnson better.

It's the 7th round...he came in for a visit and the coaches probably liked the kid. We have a need for a scat-back/KR/PR and he fills that need.

Yeah, I question who goes.. him, hightower, or Wright?

Nobody is going, LaRod Stephens-Howling is a practice squad guy most likely.

They are NOT getting rid of Hightower. That's crazy talk. He'll compete with Wright. More than likely he'll be cut or wind up on the practice squad.

Edge goes, duh :p.

But honestly, Jason Wright. Wright's only upside is he is a good pass blocker. He was mainly a camp body and wouldn't have done much with the offense.

I only mentioned HT possibly being moved (I'd expect a trade, not released) because he was Carthons guy and Carthon is out

I assumed that, we are 4 deep after Edge

Like this guy could be any worse than Arrington when he came into the league. He has speed, the Cards lack speed at the RB position, lets see if they can mold him into a 3rd down back.

By the way, if you look at his game logs, when he has had a chnace to start 9which wasnt much over the last two seasons) he was able to produce

uh.. my bad.. not sure what that means

Judging by your previous quote/respons my guess RM=read more and PL= post less. Since you apparently only read the first line of Unsterblich856's post(and missed the joke).

meh.. so I make a few stupid posts.. not like I'm the only one who has..

No worries. Its just that Wright and especially Hightower are not going anywhere.

Hell has a better chance of freezing over.

I didn't say we would cut him, if Haley offered a mid rounder for him (Hightower) I could see us moving him. His coach who reportedly was the main reason we took him is no longer here, and Beanie hopefully will show the power to pickup first downs. If someone has to go, I think he could get us something back while also being most similar to antoher back.

I am going to have to disagree. You don't give camp bodies 2 year deals. More then just a pass blocker, he rakes up the special teams tackles and he is a good receiver out of the backfield. Even though he wasn't used much in Cleveland he still managed to catch 25 balls per year the last two years. He is JJ Arrington part two.

Considering we will most likely only carry 1 FB on the roster, Howling is trying out for the #4 RB spot, special teams, and the PS.

As for the pick it self, not sure why I get worked up about a 7th rounder, if the coaches liked what they saw we shall see, the risk versus reward factor is heavily in the reward factor in the 7th round.
