According to Colin Cowherd, ESPN radio on Friday, Las Vegas has the Cards over/under at eight wins. One of about six teams. My recollection is that Seattle was 8.5 or 9, St. Louis 7, and SF 6. I'm sure the vast majority, on this Board, would go over, and the vote wouldn't be close, and the majority of total football fans would vote under, but it would be close. Trying to be objective, and taking injuries out of the equation, I think that the team has to break through the glass ceiling, and once they do, they'll be national recognition of the talent on the team. Now the experts say yes there is talent, but they are the Cardinals, and bring up the history of the team, and find reasons why they won't be succesful. I think having Kurt and Matt at QB gives the team great insurance at the position, the experts see it as a distraction/controversy. Just an example of how two groups can see the same thing and come away with different points of view.

Wow! When was the last time the Cards were at 8 on that bet? 1976?

I know there are some on this board that really know the ins and outs of the Vegas sports book, so feel free to jump in--

I have been told that SF gets a homerism boost from the Bay Area money being bet in Reno. Dont know if that is a myth or not. I have also heard there is so much LA to Vegas traffic that LA teams gets a boost in the line.

Given the coaching situations in SF and St Louis and their brutal first half schedules, I think taking the under on both wouldnt be a bad bet.

In fairness to the media, it seems to me that every time there are 2 QBs on a team who are both talented, they make it out to be a distraction/controversy. I don't think this is a good example of an anti-Cardinal bias.

I think the cardinals will go 8-8. IMO, they havn't really did anything to improve the team so far.

The Lakers, Yankees, etc always command a premium due to their huge followings.

I would never bet the over on 8-8. Yes, I think they will win more than 8, but knowing how things usually go, I would lose the bet. Now not only am I pissed at the lousy season, I lost money, too.

I would wager 8-8 too. 9-7 is what I feel in my gut, 8-8 is what I expect the team to play. Possibly even sneak into the playoffs.

The more I think about it. The more I am thinking our team is going to have at least 10 wins this year.
