Ah, I see. Thanks for the clarification.

Maybe Seigler, but I'd rather draft a DB than draft an iffy LB prospect.

Even if they just took a CB in the 3rd? Who would you take? Who do you think will be there?

I would like to see two DBs drafted; one on the first day, one on the second.

Player evaluation:
Greg Brooks
CB, Southern Mississippi
War Room analysis
Strengths: Is an interesting mid-round prospect because of speed, size potential and playmaking skills. Has good experience, and continues to improve route-recognition skills. Is quick, and has the smooth hips to turn and run with fast receivers. Can make sudden cuts to mirror quick slot receivers. Has the speed to recover from mistakes. Shows adequate ball skills, and jumps underneath routes well. Shows good awareness, and reads quarterbacks' eyes well in zone coverage.

Weaknesses: Must get stronger or be pushed around by NFL receivers. Does a below-average job of jamming receivers. Gets in trouble when big receivers get into his body. Gets pushed around often in run support, and struggles to shed blocks. Is a drag-down tackler. Typically goes out of his way to avoid contact.

Bottom line: Brooks, who missed two games early in '03 because of an ankle sprain, lacks size and probably won't be more than a sub-package player against slot receivers. Brooks is worth selecting early on Day 2 and could go late on Day 1 because of his speed and playmaking skills.

GREG BROOKS MEASURABLES
Height: 5-10 Weight: 173
40-yard dash: 4.45 10-yard dash:
20-yard shuttle: 4.16 60-yard shuttle: 11.17
Broad jump: 9-10 225 lb. bench: 9
3-cone drill: 6.91 Vertical jump: 33

Actually, looking at who is available, he looks to be one of the better players. I wouldn't mind this pick.

Interesting prospect. :) Who was the Carolina rookie CB who made an impact this year. He might be kinda like him.

That's what my value chart is pointing towards, but it leaves us without drafting an OL in the first 5 rounds. :(

I think Greg Brooks goes in the 3rd round btw, he's moving up quickly.

Good. We don't need to draft any more OL this year. Pick up a project G or C late. There's no need to waste a mid-level pick on a player that probably won't make the roster, much less have a chance to play.

Totally disagree!!! You can find really, really good guards and centers in the lower rounds. Kendall is getting up there, so why not use a 4th rounder on a player that can develop into a quality starter in a couple of years.

Or, you could follow your own advice and use a lower-round pick (like a 6th or 7th round pick) on an offensive line prospect, and use the first five picks on players that can contribute this season.

You can use that 4th round pick to get another CB prospect, a LB for depth/special teams, a running back that might even end up starting, even a defensive end or tackle that can shore up the run. Almost any position that'll help you this season instead of a player that will be sitting on the bench or practice squad for the next two years.

Good players can be found in any round......case in point Domanick Davis was a 4th round pick last year at RB for Houston......So none of the OL is any good??? It's less likely but good players could be found
