Finally the first story about what the Ravens are currently offering from a team source. (note there have not been any other stories stating they have offered a 1st and a 3rd or anything else yet, we have only known they are talking.)

Like Urban noted it sounds like the game of chicken being played out slowly in the media. But as of today according to a team source the Ravens are offering one of two things it sounds like - 1st and a player - or - 2nd and presumably a better player.

Note that said players cannot be MgGahee because the Ravens dont even have the cap space to take the cap hit of trading him. They only just enough left in cap space which would barely fit Boldins base salary.

If they are willing to do a first and a player a week from the draft, we are already higher in the negotiating game then I thought. I am now 80-20 that Boldin will be traded on draft day for a 1st and a 3rd or 1st and a comparable player worth a 3rd.

Rather have a First 3rd and 6th or something than McGahee and Heap.

Michael Smith and Tim Hasselbach were just on ESPN and said the Cardinals won't be trading Q unless they get an offer that significantly improves the team. So far that offer has not been made according to Smith.

Good work, Joe.

A mere first alone probably won't get it done.

A second a player? That player would have to have immediate value...and I think they would have to offer two players such as OLB Antwan Barnes and RB Ray Rice. Barnes (situational pass rusher) and Rice would provide immediate help in need areas. Obviously, Mike McNulty's opinion and influence on Rice could be huge here.

Their 2nd is #57...there would be a good player there...a good WR such as Louis Murphy of Florida or Derrick Williams of Penn. St...or a TE like James Casey...or one of the C/Gs such as Eric Wood...or an OLB like Paul Kruger.

The question is: would OLB Barnes, RB Rice and TE Casey make the Cardinals better than just holding onto Q? That's a tough call. Barnes would improve the pass rush. Rice could split the carries with Hightower and Casey could be the TE over the middle the Cardinals have wanted.

N'Gata is a player on the Ravens team that i would be thrilled to get. He would be a big help to the Cardinals defensive line. I feel Breaston will fill in for Boldin just fine.

No team is going to trade away a good young player costing them pennies (Ray Rice).

This I disagree with and if there is a package with the Ravens I think he will be included. Especially with McNulty now on staff.

I don't disagree he is a commodity. But you have to give up something to get something. What do you think a low first round pick is? A young talented, inexpensive player who is locked in for 5+ years.

I say a 1st round pick, a 4th and Ray Rice would get it done for both sides.

That way they can draft a RB in the 2nd or 3rd and still have McClain and Mcgahee.

Two completely different things. A 1st round pick is not a young talented player. It is a 50-50 chance of being a young talented player. Your confusing one player that already is young and a talent with just a young player that MIGHT be talented. Huge difference.

Again my point is you have to give up something to get something. For the most part Q is absolutely a commodity with the new contract and potential injury being the only hang up.

We all agree young inexpensive guys who have shown something are worth their weight in gold.

Doesn't mean a team won't trade them if they are getting something back worthwhile.

Boldin will be traded but IMO it will be to a team that we are really ignoring or should I say will be surprised to hear when its announced. Cards are really keeping this close to their vest.

Entirely possible. The Vikings and Titans have shown a strong interest but its been rather quiet.

Of course more likely its just a bunch of posturing by teams trying to get the Cards' price down (GMs posturing the week of the draft - who would think of such a thing?) and one or more teams will ultimately end up caving in. Then its just a matter of picking the best offer
