Dude I agree the first time he left cleveland it was done in bad taste but he was young. He went to Miami won two championships then went home and won a ring in his hometown now he's off to finish his career in LA.

He owes cleveland NOTHING! Did you see the way fans treated him when he left? Classless. These pro athletes don't owe any of us anything the second any of these guys do something wrong fans will turn on them in a heart beat. I've seen fans here boo KJ in his prime because he wasn't playing well.

The only people Lebron needs to answer to is his family dude.

He also gave them the only title in a major sport in how many years in Cleveland?

And he did that AFTER the owner basically ripped him to pieces for leaving.

Maybe LeBron can destroy the Lakers like he did the Cavs. Rich Paul is now running LAL. LeBron is a truly great player, but a very self-serving (as in Klutch) GM.

You know what I would put up with for just one Suns championship
On the one hand at least no one could make the damn argument of "well at least my team has a championship". However I do wonder how quickly the luster would wear off if we were left in complete shambles afterwards.

In our average year we probably have a thousand and one things to complain about with our Suns. Win a championship and 10 years later we'll still have a thousand things to complain about.

To be honest, all the "will he or won't he" drama the city had to go through multiple times had to be pretty draining. I'm just glad for the city they got the one. They were very close to not getting it. Can you imagine going through all that and having nothing to show for it?

That's it? Two?! But he said, "Not two, not three, not four, not five, not six, not seven..." LOL

The Cavs destroyed the Cavs. If LeBron hadn't rolled through they'd probably have landed Ayton because they never would have left the cellar.

All what years of success (even without the title) that few other franchises have sniffed? That franchise has perpetually been GARBAGE other than when LeBron has graced the court for them.

He never got in any trouble off the court, he's great with the media, he was great in their community. IMO, the standard he gets held to is absurd. He was less of a headache 90% of superstars around the NBA.

2 things can be held against him... one, the WAY he announced that he was leaving for Miami, I don't blame him one bit for leaving but the TV special was in poor taste; and two, strong arming the Cavs into giving Tristian Thompson a max contract. It didn't really matter as far as competitive ball goes, the Cavs were over the cap anyway, but that deal was a joke, Thompson, at his best, was a borderline starter.

I think the Suns have been in complete shambles for quite sometime now. A ring would have made that time so much better for me.

I'm surprised he chose the Lakers but I guess he's tired of losing in the finals. Now he doesn't need to worry about getting there. They'll be a playoff team but not a contender without significant upgrades. We'll see what else they do but I think it's clear he didn't make this decision based on basketball decisions. If he wanted to continue competing he wouldn't have signed with the Lakers. There are a number of teams that showed interest in him that could have given him a better chance of competing.

I don't see how this surprised anybody, when he was still in HS he said repeatedly I want to be a billionaire, I want to be the first guy to do that from basketball, and then I want to use that money to help my community. Hell he may already be there but I don't think he is yet, this move almost guarantees he gets there. The salary is one thing but him being in LA, worth tens of millions a year in extra money from marketing.

He's had a house there for years for that very reason, and now he can live there year round, send his kids to a private school like Sierra Canyon, and when he's ready to retire he'll be a billionaire. And based on his career to date does anybody NOT think he's going to use some of that money to help people in Akron like he's been doing all along?

Cleveland would’ve set its entire city on fire for a pro sports championship prior to LeBron’s return.

Then again, that fire might make the city more appealing.

I get that sort of angle but the market he plays in isn't as important as winning championships. He's making a ton of money from basketball but he's getting that anywhere he plays. Does being in LA really mean he'll get more endorsements? His legacy takes a hit each times he makes a move like this. Part of the appeal to guys before like Kobe, Jordan, Magic, Bird, etc was how they stayed loyal to their team and didn't bail on them. Lebron has done that twice now, to his hometown club, and another time when he left Miami. So his own stock isn't as high as it could be. How is he going to make tens of millions more by living in LA? I just don't see how that happens. Especially now that he's in the twilight of his career and won't be going to the finals this year and it's questionable how close he can get to another title.

Three of those four played all of their games with one team...

Jordan did come out of retirement and played with the Wizards but that was a black mark on his legacy and a bit different since he didn't go there by trade or free agent signing. He was part owner, sold his shares, and then joined the team when he was clearly over the hill. It was quite a different scenario. I often forget about that and I imagine most other fans do as well, if they don't forget then I'm sure they wish they could. Duncan or Dirk would have been better listed there.

It’s funny, as a lifelong Laker-hater I was upset when Shaq went to LAL. I was upset when Payton and Malone went there (though unnecessarily, it turned out). This time I have like no feelings. Maybe because Golden State seems to have established itself as LAL’s equal in terms of stature and off-court opportunity, and I don’t see that going away.

Or I’m just desensitized to player movement and super teams. I’m happy we’ve built a core despite the long and winding road to get there.

Ok I'm not a big LeBron fan, great player but I think there are issues I've pointed out before I don't like. That said comparing him to Kobe is bad, Kobe nearly crapped out his entire career in Colorado. The primary reason the Lakers have been down in recent years is the way Kobe got greedy at the end of his career. Love Jordan but he retired in his prime and cost the Bulls at least 1 and probably 2 titles by doing it.

The first time yeah it bothered me, tv show, taking my talents etc, this one doesn't bother me at all. He carried that team to the finals this year, it's not apparent anything was going to improve there.

He's now set it up for the next 4 years his son can go to one HS, he can be in the middle of advertising heaven, and it won't surprise me one bit if when the Western Conference finals happen this year it's LeBron and KD squaring off again, he's just that good.

I don't know if they can still get Kawhi or not but I just am not surprised by this at all. This has been in the works for awhile now, it's pretty apparent he wanted to be in LA.

LA Bron is worth more money.

As most pundits are saying this is a life decision not a basketball one. If he wanted more titles then he would have went to PHI or HOU.
