Georgia football super fan J.T. Ricketson, better known by the UGA faithful as 'Super Dawg', has passed away according to Facebook posts from friends and family.
Ricketson had surgery in early March for intestinal bypass, his granddaughter Michelle Trotter posted on Facebook when she asked for prayers. She noted that he had a weak heart, but was asking for 'Dawgnation' to lift up her grandfather.
Ricketson attended nearly every UGA football game and was known for wearing a cape with a spiked dog collar and his Super Dawg shirt with athletic shorts and red leggings, Super Dawg hat and often posing for pictures with Georgia fans young and old. As of 2018 he had attended more than 400 games, wearing his cape since 1983.
His reputation was as large as Mike 'Big Dawg' Woods, known for painting an old-school bulldog on his head for UGA games.
Ricketson was a Fort Valley native who attended the University of Georgia.
