Not sure why, but I just have a bad feeling about Chow as HC. I think it is smarter to make a safer pick as HC we cant afford to hire a dud.

Its a very intriguing chocie. It could be brilliant or a disaster. He will be here on Monday and it will be interesting to hear his press interview after the interviews. I hope they again have one for us to hear.
I dont understand all the negatives towards Chow. He is just as quailified as the other 7 interviews.
Chow is an absolute student of the game. He never stops learning and he never stops learning and is not stuck to just one idea. he is willing to change his ideas to flow with the times and players he has. He is so much so a student of the game that he would show up to NFL training camps and facilities to just hang around and watch and mingle with other nfl coaches about ideas. He may have only been in the NFL for 2 season but he has been around it longer then a lot of the other interviews.
He is the most detialed and organization oriented out of any of the other coaches except for maybe Sherman.
He knows his offense stuff.
He worked under Fisher who knows the value of a good staff.
Any of his negatives are the same exact negatives as all the other interviews except for Sherman - how is he at getting a staff, never been a HC before, getting along with the players, drafting, free agency, and so.
The only unknown out of the 8 is Sherman at this point in time.
The only knock I see on him compared to the other 8 is his age, all the rest have the same exact negatives other then that IMO.
Now having said that I am not sure if he is the best pick yet.
Like I said, it is more of a gut feeling than anything for me. I just think if the guy has the stuff to be a great HC then why did it take till his 60's to get there?

ok, then the Cards might as well just call a PC now for Sherman because he's the only one that is the "safe" pick....EVERY coordinator that we've interviewed is in the same boat. NO HC experience, no staff assembly experience, nothing. At leat Chow has like 25 years experience of calling plays and designing offenses, way more than any other of the guys.
Actually I know almost nothing about any of these guys when you get down to it. I watch players play but you can hardly watch the coaches all week. Going to have to leave this one to our so called experts.

Laying here with wife and got the dreaded what you reading question. After explaining my interpretation and many of the views from this thread I got this nugget: Well I guess it is a crap shoot then - why not just hire the best looking one - so at least he will look good when explaining the losses. I am going to go make myself a drink now.
Yeah, I get the "what are you looking at" from my friends. They're cool with the message board part until I say that it's for the Cardinals.
I don't get the reaction, do people think Leinart doesn't want to win he just wants to play for Chow again because he likes him? If Matt thinks he can do it I gotta believe it's for more than that.
Obviously we have to pick the best candidate for the team, not just for one guy, but I kind of doubt Matt doesn't realize that.
60 years old...
