I have hated Leinart for a while now, but how he sounded in that interview just cements it for me. He has no leadership ability, no fire. Cut him!

The guy was a bust even before this preseason. I think we as Cards fans had false hope that he would turn it around and he has done nothing but come in with mediocre performance after mediocre performance aside from that one average game he had vs Tennessee.

You know that is almost exactly what people were saying about Warner early in the 2006 season. With washed up being substituted for bust.

Ah, so by extension, your argument is that all players are great because it is POSSIBLE?

That's a really ridiculous extension, but whatever lets you put words in his mouth.

It was a question. Therefore, I didn't put words in his mouth. I just think that people should see Leinart for what he is and not what everyone wants him to be.

Sophistry: a subtle, tricky, superficially plausible, but generally fallacious method of reasoning.

Question must not be rooted in the plausible. Asking whether time travel is possible is a worthy scientific question. Yet, if current laws of physics are to be believe, it is impossible.

I dunno, my wife tells me I'm still living in the 60's so maybe it is possible

In all these interviews I keep seeing, Leinart keeps complaining about the lack of snaps he has had so far. My response is: he should of got more first down with the opportunities he had. He would have plenty of snaps if he didn't blow the chances he had.

or if he wasn't knocked to the ground after 2.5 seconds on half of his snaps.

You do know that Matt can't get those first downs on his own, right?

bulls-eye!

he short hops one first down... completely under-throws a bomb to a streaking WR... you get either one of those and you aren't yanked because you haven't done jack in 3 series.

Of course, if Roberts doesn't bobble a well thrown ball he probably gets a first. If there isn't the false start Leinart throws for enough yardage. If Breaston goes to the sticks, like he should, it's a first.

I have a hard time buying that this move was made because Leinart led no drives in the Titans game.

Sure but in all actuality, Anderson hasnt done any better and the argument can be made that he has done worse. To me it seems as if DA is starting because he completed one 30+ yard pass while Leinart has a long of 16.

Additionally, you have to consider all of the variables: porous performance from the entire line which has resulted in a lack of running attack (which was supposed to be our bread and butter this season). Defenses have been getting pressure on Leinart with 4 man rushes and with only 2 seconds to make a throw and all of the receivers bracketed with the exception of the check down option, it really makes it tough on Matt.

Seems like all you guys harp on in this move is the throwing aspect of the QB's game. When right before the Texans game whiz was VERY specific saying that he was necessarily concerned with that when it came to Matt. It was all the intangibles that he was more interested in looking at. How much of a leader he was etc.. etc..

http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/showpost.php?p=2290838&postcount=109

After the game Whiz was freaking pissed. He said that #1 WR's were lining up in the wrong spots and plays were being run that way etc..

QB's who are the leaders/coach on the field in year 4 in the system in no way shape or form should let that happen. How many times did you see Warner redirect a WR to the right spot? Happened quite a bit. That all has to do with having complete command of the offense and being a leader.

To me this move has to do more with that rather than actual physical performance. JMO.
