Jake, maybe they could keep them guessing by doing it for all 16 games

I like it.

Jake Plummer?

That would be awesome, if we're going to see someone throw a metric ton of interceptions I think it should be Jake.

Can you imagine the furious comebacks with Larry?

He'd have like 4 TD's in the last 1:38.

Course we'd be down by 5 TD's due to the first half but who cares it'd be entertaining as heck.

The decision is already made. There is no complication.

You my friend are VERY WRONG! If DA throws 2-3 picks and looks sloppy...then Leinart comes in and moves the team....bet your sweet bucks that things can and will change.

I'm still betting that Matt ends up starting vs. Rams with DA as the backup.

Skelton will go to 3rd string and Hall will have to go to waivers. No team will carry Hall on their 53. He's good, but he was going against the 4th string DB's....get over it folks....he's decent. Put him against the 1's....and he'll get CRUSHED.

I tend to agree with this.
While it appears now that Leinart starting week 1 is very unlikely it is still a possibility.

From what I can tell coach makes no decisions before they have to be made. He tries to leave his option open and there is still data to process and evaluations to be made. There is a film session on Friday and cuts on Saturday.
Everything should be clear one way or the other by the start of next week. Until then it is all just speculation.

I would absolutely love to see Anderson display his pick-uh-citus tonight. He isn't Kurt Warner, there is no Superbowl with DA. ML, what ever you wanna say about him, I liked the pilot, its a shame how his show is getting canceled.

Cheese seriously Leinart looked great in that game

whooohoooo!!!! he looked great in a game... in pre-season... down 30... against 2nd and 3rd stringers... with ZERO pressure on him.

and if was given an opportunity to run this team he would without question be more successful than Derek freaking Anderson thats the whole problem!

apparently, there are a lot of people in Cardinals camp and our media who think different, but hey, you say "without question" without anything to back it up so, how could I argue with that?

DA is a proven loser at least Leinart has the potential to be much better!

DA has proven he can be a loser but as much as you're loathe to admit this, he HAS proven the ability to win before and no matter how much you protest otherwise a 10-5 record in one season while leading one of the better offenses in the league and making the Pro Bowl as an alternate spit in the face of any argument to the contrary.

As to Leinart's potential... meh.

I didn't try to make that point but if you want to look at how he throws just look at the bears MNF they were who we thought they were game.

He was HUGE in that game, then fumbled then rallied back to nearly win it and Rackers shanked one.

Four years ago... FOUR YEARS AGO. And the guy has NEVER looked the same since.

Sorry conrad, just because Matt looked really good in TWO GAMES 4 years ago doesn't make much of a point to me, especially when we've pretty much NEVER seen that again, especially any time he's got something on the line.

If this happened it would the greatest media coup of all time. By far ahead of anything that's ever been done. Unfortunately, it would never happen. The media as a whole have too many sources inside locker rooms and organizations. The fact that there hasn't been more leakage of any kind is quite impressive to me, coming from our team. They are well coached and well organized not to get caught saying something stupid (aside from Leinart himself). It's incredible, and I love the character on this team, quite honestly. They're disciplined for the most part, and you just don't hear the kind of stuff you do out of other camps, aside from a few humorous dockett tweets.

He was never the same after his collarbone injury. He's reluctant (I would never say unwilling), but reluctant to stand in there for too long and deliver strikes down the field, even though he knows he can make those throws. His body hasn't recovered--it's a reflex kind of thing, inside, just, you know, wincing, and clinching and tightening up of the body. His mind says one thing, his body says the heck with that, that hurt last time.

Leinart was never the QBOF? WTF?
He sort of was on the day we drafted him. I do not recall many post not agreeing with the selection and almost jumping through hoops. I thought we were the luckest team in the west when we drafted him and he would likely be our started for the season. It did not take long for me to come to another conclusion. Our QBF may just be sitting on our bench this season. Let us hope so.

I don't agree with that, he did a great job in the 2nd preseason game of delivering a ball where he knew he was going to be hit right as he was releasing the ball.

He did lose something after his first season, he's been that way ever since Whiz got here, which goes to my theory they just don't mix and Whiz is not his kind of coach.

It happens and between the two of them I'd choose Whiz all day and twice on Sunday but it is IMO unfortuneate and it's more unfortuneate that it had to drag on this long, IMO he should of been cut after he lost the job to Kurt his 2nd year, he was never comming back with Whiz here IMO.

Wouldn't it be kindof funny if after all the freaking out and the media frenzi and all the drama of the past week if there is no cut, no trade, and Leinart totally starts against St. Louis.

lol I'm just saying. Coach and Matt are totally chillin at HQ right now watching espn, eating popcorn, laughing their asses off because this was all just and ingenious ploy to screw with the media. "hey Matt, look look now you're getting traded to New York! Hahahahahahaha"

I know that's not the case, but it would be funny.

That would be great, but I doubt Anderson would be chowing the popcorn with them.

That would be cool too but he was talking to me, 'Jake, about keeping both ML and DA and never letting on who was going to start until game time. Not about Jake Plummer. :)

I think the Wiz will finish what he started, making Matt look ********. There is no way he will give ML a chance to shine tonight. Da Wiz knows he ruined any kind of trade value already, and to give him a shot tonight would only give Matt a chance to prove the coach wrong. He aint having that.

Having watched the game, I'd say Matt didn't need any help making himself look bad. He has that act down pat. Also, I'm confident there's a lot more pettiness in cyberland than there is in our head coach. He's got a lot more to worry about than one guy and I doubt he takes time out to gameplan against one of our own guys.

I honestly think Leinart has lost the trust of his fellow players. It just didn't seem to me they were playing all that hard when he was in there. I think if/when he doesn't get the nod at starter he becomes a lame duck and will have to be released. He has mentally checked out on this team, IMHO.

Reality!!!
And I don't think Wiz will make that mistake of having a lameduck QB on the roster.

The team is going to get exactly what it's asking for in Anderson and that is just plain scary. Dropping passes and ole' blocks are pretty disgusting. I guess Leinart threw the pass just too darned hard for Williams to catch it.

Is it really so shocking that an undrafted rookie, even one as good as Williams, would drop a pass?

Leinart threw a pass too hard? :)

Did you not see the two other passes DA threw tonight? Yes, he overthrew Spach, but the other two completions were solid.

Matt didn't help himself at all last night. Dropped a pass at William's feet, then under threw the one pass he tried to go deep on by about 10 yards.

I was on suicide watch with the DA announcement, but right now it clearly looks like the right call.

Maybe it's all mental at this point, but Leinart certainly doesn't have "it" anymore. At least not for the Cardinals and his coach.
