I've done plenty of Matt bashing.. so I'll keep this to a minimum.

When I was watching Sanchez yesterday, I was amazed by his poise/leadership in the huddle, pre-snap.. he looks as comfortable as anyone to me.

Now cue up any Leinart footage you might have.. He looks fearful pre-snap, and usually locks on to his first read.
His expressions show zero confidence, and his teammates no doubt see it, and are affected as well.

Cue up Sanchez footage early in the season and watch the 5 INTs and 0 TDs. The biggest difference is Ryan stuck with him through good and bad which ML hasn't been given the chance yet. I agree Sanchez looked confident but he was also allowed to play every game no matter how bad he performed which gave him confidence that his coach would stick by him.

ML needs to be given the same opportunity.

Nobody expects Leinart to look like Kurt Warner. But we should certainly expect him to be able to come into a game and manage it, make accurate throws & not throw int's.

Leinart doesnt even look comfortable on the field. After three years in the same sysytem and same coach. Thats pathetic. He looks scared and he plays scared.

I certainly dont think he is incapable of turning it around at some point(but I'm not holding my breath). But you making the blanket statement "Matty will be more than fine as a starter for us next year" shows you aren't no football genius either.

Because from what Matt has shown us you are spitting in the wind with that comment.

The decision will be made in a few months if todays story on ESPN is true. I think we should trade for a veteran.

Not his rookie year. Cue up the Monday Night game.

LoL Funny you bring up Sanchez when compared to Matt's rookie year, Matt had the better stats. Another HUGE difference with both guys is Sanchez knew he was the guy from day one. Leinart doesn't even start, let alone know what his future holds. Great argument though.

We made the playoffs Matt's first year?
Great argument though.

Isn't that EXACTLY what he did during his only start this season and PEOPLE STILL BITCHED? No turnovers and we were winning the Titans game until the end where our DEFENSE let us down but some on here still put that loss on Leinart.

Can't have it both ways guys

and Warner sucked under his first year with Dennis Green. Glad we gave up on him

And he's been to 3 super bowls. You're compaing Matt to Kurt? Lately when Matts been in he's working with arguably the best receiving trio in the league. Much better lines then we had with Green. Matt still sucks.

His 3rd was with this coaching staff. Two years ago pretty much this entire board wanted to give up on him.

In fact the list of players that people on here have given up on at one point in time are a who's who of our team during our Superbowl run. In no particular order:

Warner - "Old. Too injury prone. Turnover prone. Was just a system QB in St Louis"
Adrian Wilson - "Too slow. Bad in coverage."
Darnell Dockett - "Only plays half the season"
Q - "Too injury prone. Not a great WR anymore. Not a team player."
Antrel Rolle - "Not good in coverage. Will never be an NFL level DB."
Hell even Fitz got thrown under the bus before his contract extension

I don't know if Leinart is the future or not but I'm going to give this coaching staff the benefit of the doubt here

Forgot this was Matt's first year.

Yeah I forgot we were losing 94-0 to the Titans in his only start of the season and he threw 12 Ints that game.

No wait we were winning that game, he had no turnovers and our defense gave up a 99 yard TD drive where the Titans converted 3 4th downs with ease. I'm not going to crucify him for playing a bad game as a backup coming off the bench and playing a pass first, spread offense that goes away from his strengths.

This coaching staff is smart enough to adjust to player's strengths. For example as an OC with the Steelers, Whis at one point called 27 straight run plays. 27 offensive plays - Zero passes. Why? Because he had the best damn running team in football that year with a rookie QB and went toward that teams strengths

Sorry... how does anything you're saying make Matt suck less?
