I don't think he fits this offense.

Drake will get a chance to prove himself and I imagine we will take a QB in the 3rd/4th.

Don't forget Chase Edmonds will be a free agent in 2022 (2 seasons left on contract).
.........why

Hey I get you, bama was stacked up front and their quarterback Jefferson sucked. All I am saying is in my bama oppinated opinion drake is better now for the next 5 years. Drake is a runner and fast. Never played as a 16 game starter since high school. And then he probably played 12 or 13. What I am getting at is drake doesn’t have the wear other guys have in hits taken. Why do you think the cards traded for him? And then franchise him? He is gonna be special. Fornette is done. Stick a fork in him.

I wouldn’t take either for the next five years

I'd take Edwards Hillside with the plan that he starts next year. Moss and Dillon possible too

The #Jaguars had trade talks centered around RB Leonard Fournette for more than a month, and they circled back with teams in the last three days, sources say. No takers yet. A sign Fournette could be headed out of Jacksonville before the 2020 season.

Fournette is expected to attract interest due to his on-field production. According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, however, there are some character concerns about the running back.
and
He’s had some issues with coaches there in Jacksonville. So I’m told, from people who have worked with him, if you go into a new locker room, there could be some problems, potentially.”

Take a RB in the 3rd - 5th....but take a potential starter. I don't want a specialist or "change of pace back"....I want someone that potentially takes over as the starter next year and saves us huge money at the RB position.

To me those RB's are Johnathan Taylor, Clyde Edwards Hillare, and Zach Moss.

Report: Leonard Fournette ‘perennially late,’ fell asleep in team meetings
April 20, 2020
by Grey Papke

https://larrybrownsports.com/football/leonard-fournette-late-sleep-meetings/547091

NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo did not paint a pretty picture of Fournette’s conduct with the Jaguars. Garafolo reported that the running back was often late, fell asleep during team meetings, did not put in the necessary work, and could be “moody” despite getting plenty of touches.

If there are no takers yet, I wonder what the asking price is.
Seems like Jax is cleaning house. That all stems from the animosity of players toward Coughlin and his tactics.
I’d give up a 3rd or 4th in a heartbeat for him.

I'm not a fan of Drake at all, and hope we draft an RB.

No kidding? You've only posted that like 8,000 times.

I can't wait to see Drake tear it up, just to make you look like a fool. Never have I seen someone hate on a player so intensely as you've shown towards Drake, for no valid reason whatsoever, as much as you keep trying to justify it.

The point of bringing it up again is that while I feel the RB room is soft, I still wouldn't go spend any capital to bring in Fournette to replace Drake. It basically means I dislike Fournette as an option for the team more than I dislike Drake.

I absolutely hope Drake will crush it, and most of my disdain for him came from the thought I didn't think David Johnson could be traded - and that Drake was going to demand a multi-year contract at an insane cost. Where it stood at that point in the offseason, I felt we were going to have an overwhelmingly expensive running back room with very little to show for it.

Once DJ was traded in the best deal ever, it was obvious we had to keep Drake, and even better, as it stands, he's on a one-year deal that doesn't prevent us from going in another direction at the position with a draft pick or into the future.

This isn't negativity for the sake of negativity - I've relented on this one because we have done a good job of filling holes in the roster, and we can see how he does.

Now, if you want to tell me you think he's going to be a 1,300 yard RB with 600 yards receiving and 15 TDs, we can certainly argue that, but he's a fine lead asset to a shared backfield.

You wonder how much of that stuff is real vs interested teams trying to drive the price down. Why didnt thoes report come out a long time ago. Anyway, such a fun time in the nfl with subterfuge
I always take these "reports" with caution too. I can see some of this as true only for the fact that when Fournette was a rookie he said everyone told him the NFL was quicker then college and he said it wasn't any different and the guys weren't much different then college (paraphrase) so I can see him as arrogant lol
