Les Revenants (The Returned)

Came across this French show completely by accident, only because Mogwai wrote the music. Aired in France last year and just finished its run in UK.

Think Lost meets Twin Peaks meets The Walking Dead. Excellent show. Really, if you like the above shows, you must watch this. Yes, it's in French. Deal with it. Watch it before they make a stupid English-language remake.

I realize it may be difficult to watch this anywhere outside of France/UK, but every episode has been torrented with hardcoded English subs. Other than that, you may have to watch it on YouTube or wait until Netflix picks it up or something.

Series 1 is 8 episodes. Series 2 won't air until 2014.

Well, there's an English-language remake. I gave the pilot episode a try, because it looked neat. What a plodding piece of crap. And yeah, people always act all kinds of cool, calm and collected when stuff like this happens, right? At least it FINALLY had some freaking out. I mean, it didn't really wake me out of my bored stupor, but it finally got there.

 

[Covert Rain]

This also has very similar elements to the show Resurrection. Which is ironic because they call people on that show who have come back from the dead "The Returned".
