It should come as no surprise that the Los Angeles Rams were interested in star receiver Davante Adams early in the free agency process. Adams signed with L.A. the Sunday night before the legal tampering period started after the New York Jets released him following an "aggressive" recruitment by Rams head coach Sean McVay.
But, as Rams general manager Les Snead told FanDuel TV's Kay Adams on Monday, L.A. started having discussions about the possibility of adding Adams to the Rams during this past season's Super Bowl. Reports surfaced that the Jets would likely release Adams before the 2025 league year, and that ignited a conversation between Snead and McVay about bringing Adams back to California.
Adams is now poised to become one of the most important offensive weapons for quarterback Matthew Stafford alongside fellow wideout Puka Nacua and running back Kyren Williams. While Adams is a bit older, his skillset translate well as a do-it-all receiver who can go over top of defenses and pick them apart in the intermediate areas of the field.
