Now that no one is disagreeing that Murray started this, can you all get over it and talk about future state. That's where the rest of the world is now.

What happens next. I don't see many outcomest that are good for the Cards.

I think this all blows over as a storm in a teacup and Murray is in camp in July as usual. Unless it was all about his deal and he escalates it.

And other Players and ex players say, that Kyler is at fault, hench I heared some podcasts that told a different story, that all this imaturity was always visible, that Kyler played bad, that the scapegoat was Kliff Kingsbury for the media for the Playoff debacle and now that Kyler did what he did, Kyler made himself the guy that is the cause, since everyone analyised every snap again and they stopped the time to throw and on many throws there were open recievers and Kyler didn't throw in 3 seconds, same goeas for the Pick 6.

Next point was made by I think it was even Skip that the voices that Mort heared weren't from Arizonas FO since you never ever hear anything from the FO and it is impossible to get real information from them. So basically they narrowed it really down to a Player, and Kliff already was selfscouting for the Playoff and couldn't come up with any help for Kyler, since it seems that kyler didn't want to run against the Rams.

So I at the moment can't make anything out of it. This thing was a total desaster and I don't know if the funny pun from the IG Team of the Cards helped. I think that was all what was authorized by the FO. Really, even on PP21 or Honey Badger you didn't hear anything from the FO, this thing smells like something players, that are alinated with Kyler, tell the press.

Overall, Kyler showed that he isn't mature and he didn't understand what it takes to win a SB. For me now it even showed that he is probably not ready for the next 2-4 years. From a mental and a willingness stand point.

A really good QB would have taken the whole blame and told everyone that I will train harder and focus more and get better and so on and than come next season better than ever. If Kyler would be alread one of the greatest he would have done the Brady way. Call Keim, sign a 5 year 100 mio $ deal with 20 mio signing bonus, ask for better LG, RG, RT & WR2 and to keep Ertz with the rest of the money call it a day. And start training for 2023.

Occam's Razor explanation is that Kyler thinks it's time for a new contract and he doesnt like the org's stance (low ball or no contract at all), so he's using whatever leverage he has at his disposal to create a sense of urgency, though it's making him look juvenile in the process.

Kyler started the fire, but in the blaze, revealed (or re-revealed) the org's ineptitude in the process.

Please fire Keim

Naw, RGIII terrible job. Not well done. That’s an editorial, not journalism. With zero sourced information. Greenie should ask RGIII what his sources were and what exactly did the cardinals front office say. That was nothing but a hit piece.

RG3s point is basically:

Yes ,Murray started this by deleting his social media. Yes, Murray is young and he has room to grow/mature.

An upstanding organization builds him up in that situation not tears him down. He frames it as character assassination. He also highlights how stupid it is for upper management to devalue Murray when 25 other teams would want him.

He thinks the organization's reaction has only deepened the rift that started this and Murray shouldn't play for the Cardinals again.

All of that seems pretty spot on. By the organization leaking stuff, they have only hurt his trade value in a stupid attempt to shame him / get him to accept less money. It's ham fisted management and it has happened over and over with Keim.
I am no shill for keim or the organization, but can you show me an actual sourced quote tied to any named member of the organization? That’s a BS piece.

Probably cause you dont what the hell the report was fully saying?

How would a player know about the 2nd tweet involving Kliff?
Uh maybe kliff said just that part to someone. It doesn’t mean he or anyone else in the organization is the source for all the other rumors.

Again, that isn't being disputed that Kyler started this. Why it was started is still unknown.

Beyond that, someone at Keim's level has done their best to win this through multiple leaks that just aren't productive on any level. Just like every other time it has happened.
Eh, 100% conjecture. Particularly the crap about devaluing him league wide. The cardinals tend to be a dumb franchise. But I dont think they are that dumb.

This is a whole lotta BUT SOMEONE SAID!

Unless you're on Florio's side that thinks the Mort Report was kind of cruddy.

I think there’s a ton of conjecture. And I get it, that’s what ASFN is for. But with this mess here’s what I see:

A young talented QB with big maturity issues that may not have the temperament necessary to be the face of a team who underperformed down the stretch and doesn’t really take responsibility (at least publicly) for his short comings who wants a big contract but may not have earned it yet.

A historically inept franchise that only gives glimpses of doing things successfully. An owner that is better than his father but still lacking in understanding how to execute on long term excellence and has an affinity for a GM who is subpar

A GM that fails at the most important aspect constructing a team when it’s (a) not a deep pocket team; and (b) not a glamour destination. Who also seems to allow his big mouth to get in the way all the time.

A coach who frankly doesn’t inspire. Without rehashing all the reasons I’ve typed in the past why, that’s what it boils down to - not an inspiring guy in many areas.

In essence, among those four people I don’t see a strong inspiring personality amongst them. And it’s expectedly turned into a disaster.

Yay cardinals.

Does Arizona Cardinals' Kyler Murray deserve to be paid like a Top 10 NFL quarterback?

Speculation has swirled recently that Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray wants to be paid like a top quarterback in the NFL.

That got us wondering.

Is he a top quarterback in the NFL?

Several rankings of NFL QBs have been released as the NFL offseason gets underway and some of them have different opinions on Murray, with some ranking him as a Top-10 NFL QB, while others have him outside the Top 10 at his position in the league.

Audacy.com recently ranked the Top 10 QBs in the NFL last season and it also had Murray No. 8, after having him No. 4 at midseason.

Tim Kelly wrote: "There are legitimate criticisms to be made about how the Cardinals' 2021 season ended and the poor body language that Murray shows when things aren't going his way. However, some have gotten carried away in piling on Murray after an ugly playoff performance against the eventual Super Bowl Champion Rams. Murray is one of the shiftiest quarterbacks that we've ever seen, and is a very good passer. The Cardinals would be wise to repair their relationship with the 24-year-old -- even if he's partially at fault for whatever issues exist -- because he may be the best thing that's ever happened to their franchise."

Sports Illustrated wasn't quite as high on Murray for 2022. It didn't have him as a Top 10 QB, instead placing him at No. 12.

It wrote of Murray: "Immaturity issues have prevented Murray from taking the next step."

DallasNews.com also didn't view Murray as a Top 10 QB in the NFL quite yet, ranking him No. 12 on its recent list of quarterbacks in the league.

I thought that WR Coach Jefferson’s take on this was more accurate than anything out there. Cardinals averaged 30 points per game with Hopkins playing & 21 without him. That injury alone changed dramatically how defenses played us. And not only did we not have a 2, but not even sure we had a WR3 on this team. Injuries also took its toll on practice time, including the practice time that Murray missed out on. And people forget that the Covid restricted offseasons have really been damaging to QB/WR timing. Especially with on field rapport with guys like Green & Moore. Moore being injured while Hop was out also was a major hit for our offense. I don’t expect Green to be back. He needed to be the 1 when Hop went down & he wasn’t even a 2. Bottom line, we need a legit 2 & I believe we’ll get one. Jefferson believes Moore will have a much bigger effect because of the FULL offseason. With a short offseason last year, they just couldn’t force feed his development. Jefferson also says that Murray will continue to make big strides, especially with the full offseason coming up.

The CB depth has had a lot of attention but arguably the worst roster decision we made was rolling into the season with Antoine Wesley as the only depth outside receiver.

We had about 5 guys who could play slot. If Kirk had got hurt we would have been fine. Moore, Dortch and Isabella could all play slot.

But the only outside receiver depth we had on the roster while rolling the dice on AJ Green being healthy was Antoine freaking Wesley. A 3rd year guy who never before played a game that runs in the 4.65 range.

There are about 20 other guys we could have had that are better for vet min or around. Heck, I'd rather we stuck with Trent Sherfield.

To be honest we don't really know ANYTHING right now. The comments being attributed to the Cardinals may have come from a Quality Control Coach.
Would I believe that the Cardinals said these things about Murray? Absolutely, and shame on them if they did.

If the Cards don’t know how to handle KM, the best young franchise qb ever, while 20 plus other teams would love take him, then they don’t deserve him, period.

RG3 is 100 percent correct in his assessment, and if I’m Kyler I’m out of Az because this trash franchise doesn’t deserve my talent and half of the board want Rosen anyways so let them have that bum ass Rosen and keep this franchise in the damn gutter where it belongs.

How the hell you going to trash your star qb like that where everyone from top to bottom was trash??? Roster construction, poor draft picks, putting 30plus year old band aids on positions where it needs talent, now outright character assassination is why former players don’t like this franchise and would rather be anywhere else. You going to put out hit-peices to devalue a young qb so he CANT go anywhere?? Not even the Texans did that to Deshaun.

I’m sensing a pattern with this organization and it’s long and old. Honey Badger, Patrick P, and a few others warned y’all.

Y’all can whine and complain about maturity issues and nit-pick every snap you want but if 25 other professional franchises can see beyond that then what does that say about you?? And damn right they saw every game he was in and is actually paid money to deconstruct his play more then you arm-chair analysis who don’t get paid anything. And they still want him. Trade him and keep this franchise in the gutter.

Give me a break. Character assassination? Ha !! Everyone has known Kyler was a "different cat" from day one. Introverted, shy, not a great public speaker, keeps to himself, whatever you want to call it... "Uh, uh. yeah, uh." The first thing he needed coming into the league was some kind of personal coach, a PR guy schooling him on how to hold himself, how to act, how to lead. Possibly a former QB in the league. Someone who has been there, done that. Want to blame the organization - fine, but there is plenty of blame on Kyler himself. Comes off as not bothered by losing and appears more interested in his video game clan and Twitch. Disconnected from the rest of the team, fans, the community, etc. rather than embracing his position and being a leader - on the team and in the community. I realize he is only 24, but he should have been grooming himself for this time in his life since high school or even peewee football (no pun intended). At some point, you need to stop rolling the dice to see what happens. You have to know your role and take it by the reins. I hope we see big changes in the offseason and carrying into this coming season - with Kyler and within Kyler. As a Cards fan, I have my doubts (just like when we drafted him) but I want us to be successful so I hope he proves he can be the QB we can rely on. I hope he can become a leader and have sustainable success for us. We'll see...

Pure speculation: Brentson Buckner? Wonder whether he's unhappy his contract wasn't renewed?

...dbs

Edit: Just saw this from Urban's mailbag re Buckner (for what it's worth):
I am wondering why you assume he was fired. It's my understanding they wanted him back, his contract ended, and Buck chose a different opportunity. (There were reports in-season a couple of colleges had wanted to hire him too.)

I dont get this at all. Why the complaints about his body language, getting upset with teammates, etc if he didnt care about winning?

Tired of hearing he "feels like the scapegoat".

He had a top 10 all time bad first half playoff performance. He threw one of the worst playoff pick 6s in history.

You can't play that poorly and feel like the scapegoat.
Damn straight, then we forget about that incredible pass on the run to Kirk deep who stops on his route or Max Garcia literally getting thrown like a ragdoll five yards :)
