It’s rather strange. Kyler is the only above average NFL player Keim has drafted in the last 4 years, yet there’s some like BritCard who want to keep Keim and dump Kyler.
Where have I said I want to keep Keim? That's a flat out lie.
Just for clarity.
I want Keim gone and have done for a while. Just because I disagree with those rewriting recent history to serve their own needs doesn't mean I want to keep him. This whole board, and I mean whole board, was saying what a great job Keim had done with year up to the point we were 10-2.
"Watt has been great", "Conner has been a bargain", "I thought AJ Green was washed but he's been a really good addition", "Hudson makes the line so much better". People were even crowning Antoine Wesley as a good pickup.
All that is still true after 17 games. Keim can only provide the players. He can't control them taking a huge dump on the field when the pressure is on.
I want him gone in general for a change in culture and a poor draft history. That doesn't change the fact that THIS season he did a good job. We had the same roster for 10-2 as we did for 1-5.
Same goes for Kliff. I was one of the biggest "Fire Kliff" guys on here before this season and I've made numerous posts breaking down various aspects of his scheme that I think have been highly lacking. Again, that doesn't mean I can't recognize that in general he did a good job this year. The man had 11 wins. You don't get 11 wins without doing a good job, but he wasn't perfect by any means.
Kyler is in many ways the reverse. I had high expectations of him this year which he more than fulfilled through 8 games. Hallelujah, all is saved. And then the old issues came back. The bad body language. The sulky sideline stints. A seeming lack of the ability just to say "I was bad today. I let everyone down" as many other QBs do and instead say everyone had a bad game.
Of the 3 I would still keep Kyler if I had to choose. But if he did delete his socials to try force a new contract it's now a much closer decision than it should be.
