When the Cardinals turn it around and become contenders for the next 7 to 10 seasons, lets all make a promise not to act like New England/Boston fans...

A good majority of these fans act as if they are somehow better people because their teams are doing well. Its as if the whole definition of their lives depend on weather or not Patriots/Redsox are doing well.

Somehow winning has given many of their fans an inflated sense of ego and invicibility. It is one thing to be a dedicated loyal fan and its another to live vicariously through the team. I just want to shake them and say, "You're not on the field, you did not play, the team accomplished it not you!"

Don't get me wrong I love the Cardinals and hate losing, but at the end of the game (or very shortly after) I am able to move on and be happy with the rest my life. Football gives me joy and sorrow for 3-4 hrs, but after that life continues.

When I was at the Cardinals home opener this year, I was just amazed at how rude and obnoxious the Pats fans were. It seemed that 8 out of 10 Pats fans had been drinking since 5 in the morning and would berate any that would walk by that donned Cardinal apparel including children.

During the game I must have seen at least 6 or 7 Pats fans escorted out for mis-conduct. The topper of the day was after the game when it started raining. My father, little brother, and I were walking out of the stadium and into the paking lot, to our left was a soldier in all white with a sign reading, "Pat Tillman a True Patriot," and to my left a typical twenty-something, 5-6 beer bellied, red-face, dude who was clearly wasted.

He stood there teetering from side to side measuring the soldier when he exlaimed, " Yeah, Pat Tillman a ture patriot?...then why did he play for a bunch of (female body parts) he would'nt have been such a (female body parts) if he didn't play for the Cardinals."

The solider just looked at him with dismay and I wanted to go over and puch his lights out. This is a sad example of what I percieve to be--unfortunately--a typical Pats fan. One who puts too much into their team and defines too much of their self worth on the success of a team. Is there no other reason to live?

Please lets handle ourselves with class and not berate other people or get full of ourselves when the Cards are a great team. Lets remember where we've been with this franchise and respect ourselves and others around us. We are all better than that.

The look on others peoples faces will be good enough for me. When you ( or your team ) is good and winning, you dont have to tell people that. They will figure it out for themselves.

That would be a hard change to avoid. It'd start as one of those promises that you see in a movie. Josie and the Pussycats for example, where they kept their bus passes to remember where they came from, but pretty soon (mostly due to subliminal messages in Josie's latest mix CD) Josie has alienated her self from the other two pussie cats. Don't worry, by the time the movie ends the have gotten back together just in time to play a rockin' stadium concert gig...
*sigh* I am such a girl.
I guess my point is I don't want to hug any of you.

That's a terrible point. I take it back, I'd hug all of you.
Not in an girly way but a very manly way. Unless you're a girl, then I'll oblige cause I don't want to break any bones.

Many NFL fans back a team, specifically because they want to beat their chest and act like they can kick everyone else around when they are actually cowards. They pick a team they identify with a tough guy reputation to show thay are tough themselves and so much other BS. I saw this when I lived in Kansas City all the time. A better example was last year, some Steelers idiot came trolling on the cards board and tried to show his toughness by saying in essence, "what are you going to do, get the other five Cardinal fans to help you" Really what that coward is saying, is he's going to take the side where he has superior numbers.

One benefit of being a Cardinal fan, you're not going to attract the coward thats trying to find the side with superior numbers. If we start to win, maybe that will change. It will be harder to recognize the ones who will only with you because they need to safety of superior numbers. For now we don't have that problem. The Cardinals don't attract cowards.

Yeah you guys should have seen the smug faces of the Patriot fans sitting next to us when we played them at home last year. Couple of SOB. One moron even told me why don't the Cards move to LA cause we'll never get a stadium. :doi: What a couple of morons if you ask me. Hope they lose this Sunday to the Eagles.

I know I posted a payroll question in the D'backs forum http://www.arizonasportsfans.com/vb/showthread.php?t=46946
They were losers for so many years and they win a few and now that erases it all? 3 years, Sox fans will empty out cuz they'll suck, next year the Panzies will be 6-10 with their offensive AND defensive coordinators leaving. I was in Boston in Dec, they live in their own world, nothing seems to exist out side of their little world. I would talk about other players like Plummer, Jamal Lews, even Barry Sanders and they asked "Who?" Idiots

I tend to agree. I asked a couple of Patriot "fans" who Tom Brady replaced as the starting QB & neither could tell me. Then a "lifer" chimed in Drew Bledsoe & I said lifer huh? Who was the starting QB when the Pats lost to the Bears in Super Bowl XX the lifer couldn't name him. (Steve Grogan  ) Which I actually saw a "real" Patriots fan with a Grogan throwback jersey on! I can at least name the starting QB's the Cards have had since they moved from St. Louis.

That's so insane that I can't even believe anyone would even say that...to a soldier no less.

Yeah that goes far beyond a football game. I think the sentiment is starting all over the country that Pat/Sox fans are terrible winners and are gonna start being hated like the Yankee and Cowboy fans

Grogan started out as the backup that year and only got the job due to injury, too, didn't he? He was behind a younger, more golden boy who's name escapes me at the moment.

I sure as hell don't want the patriots to win the super bowl. As much as I like the team, and Tom Brady, I don't want their a-hole fans to get any more satisfaction.

Go Eagles....

Tony Eason? I think that was the kid who started the season for the Pats for superbowl XX.

Uhhhhh....Didn't Tony Eason start Super Bowl XX? I think he was yanked in the first half for Grogan, but I believe Eason was the first lamb led to slaughter in that game.
