Hearing LT Levi Brown tore his tricep right off the bone, the MRI will tell the extent of the injury (muscle or tendon) likely done 4 the yr

I'm thinking if it's torn off the bone the extent of the injury is serious! He's done

Got the text from KTAR. Im assuming that means hes out for season. I hope someone good comes along during veteren cuts or they make a trade. Seems like Bridges is the only option to fill in at this point...

Ughhh...
My guess is Bridges until a backup proves he can be trusted or Potter (maybe even Massey) steps up.

You've got to figure that, since injuries come with the territory, the coaches an FO have a Plan B - whether it's Bridges, Batiste, Young or a rook. Or someone from another team or off the street.

Actually, if it's anything like the injury Jake Peavy of the White Sox had(torn muscle but it was his lat) then it is better if it tore completely off the bone. They said all it does is have to be re-attached, rather than the muscle itself tearing, and he should make a full recovery. He'd still be out for the year but the long term prognosis would be better.

That's a concern I also have as it can become a recurring injury.

Oh man there goes our season. NUTS!

:bang:

Dude, come on. It's not like Brown is an elite player. A post like that should be for only Fitz, Dockett, Peterson. Campbell, Washington or Wilson.

Someone will have to step up. Its put up or shut up time for Grimm. I truly beleive every single oline player is here because he wanted him. From what I saw, it wasn't like there was huge dropoff with Young in the the game. This should be fixable.

Brown was an average player. Behind him we have players well below average. Guys who wouldn't make most teams rosters. Totally unproven rookies. To top it off we don't have a starting RT.

We are going into a NFL season without players at either tackle position.

We are Screwed! Game over man!

I'm on record as saying Potter is our LTOTF (I think I just coined that!), but I doubt it will be this season. He needs more time with Lott. That said, his strength is pass pro, so we'll see.

It's not the fact that Levi Brown got hurt this is so concerning, per say, it's the fact that whoever else we will likely trot out there will actually be even worse than Levi Brown that is so concerning!

I've Bashed Levi as much as anyone, but at least he was a fairly average LT, now it will be Trash and that is really, really, bad.

Lol so Levi gets the last laugh.

Replacing Levi of first 8 games won't be a problem and being that he graded as the worst LT in football, theres even a chance we get better play then that.

Losing the guy of the last 8 games will be tougher.

No band aids. Go bring in all those LTs and have them compete so at the very least we have depth in case of another injury. Best case scenario is one or both of the young guys ready to step up.

Like someone else said this isn't like losing one of our guys that's tops at their position. If addressed properly the impact can be managed.

Let's just become the running game - ball control team we are destined to be and give up on isolating our tackles and going for yards down field. Maybe next year.

Well I have been a fan since before He was drafted, and believe Levi deserves as much credit as anyone for our sB appearance, defending immobile Warner with a defense daring others to blitz every down with the last place run game.

Well you got your wish Levi Beaters, choke on it!

WTF? Grabbing the high-on-your-horse-moral-ground?

Levi was just getting to the point of being decent while he has been paid premium rates.

The Cardinals just took a big hit and you want to claim some kind of credit for it?

It's a huge loss. It's also surprising. One of Levi's biggest strength is his durability. He hasn't missed a game in four years.

Upon hearing the news, Kolb immediately ran to his right.
:biglaugh: Thanks for making me laugh!

The rest of this thread is damn depressing. This is a huge loss to the team, already they are trying to find a reliable right tackle, and now are without a starting left tackle. Damn. :(

Totally agree. Sucks the dude got hurt, but his play since his arrival has been less than inspiring. I'm thinking this might be a positive if the FO gets serious about adding someone.

Sure... no problem. Just dial 1-800-left tackle. ;)
